Reobtaining the DLC vehicles

Saints Row 2 - Is it possible to get DLC vehicles back? yes but only through modding.

The only vehicle of the DLCs we can get back is Temptress which Tera Patrick drives but what if we edit the DLC homie to drive other DLC vehicles?

First we need to identify which vehicle is which in the game's code

(Corporate Warfare) Apex - bike_exotic02
(Corporate Warfare) Bee - plane_stunt01
(Corporate Warfare) Commander - boat_speed04
(Corporate Warfare) Elite - car_2dr_exoticsports08
(Corporate Warfare) Lightning - car_2dr_muscle05
(Corporate Warfare) Oppressor ULTOR - heli_4dr_police03
(Corporate Warfare) Relic - car_4dr_classic03

(Ultor Exposed) AB Destroyer - plane_fighter02
(Ultor Exposed) EDF Scout - sp_EDF_Scout1
(Ultor Exposed) Pulse - sp_trike01
(Ultor Exposed) Stallion - car_2dr_sports08
(Ultor Exposed) Vulture - heli_fighter_02
(Ultor Exposed) Temptress - car_2dr_exoticsports07

To edit the DLC homie you need to unpack dlc_submission_1.vpp_xbox2 and once that is unpacked then the name of the file is dlc1_homies.xtbl using a table editor.

With Helicopter homie will not get out but you gotta knock out the DLC homie in order to reobtain the vehicle.

With Plane, Make sure to head over to airport before calling homie but homie will keep running you over so maybe take out homie or wait until they stop running you over.

Is this really what I think it is? I'm too tired/busy to look into this right now, unfortunately.

You can also just get a save that has the dlc vehicles and use the garage editor tool to extract the dlc vehicles and inject them to whatever save you want (xbox 360/ps3 stating this because dlc vehs only came to be on xbox and ps3 versions of sr2), I had hazard create a stand alone garage manager/editor tool. I had hazard make this standalone tool because his collection editor is rather buggy and broken platform to platform. I personally spent a month+ testing every game version besides gog gamesaves across every single saints row game. I reported well over 100 bugs and issues and it seems to be fully working now in update 1.1. However the method you posted is what I used to use all the time to get specific vehicles + variants years ago and is good just incase you don't have another save laying around with the dlc vehicles or if a save with them can't be found.

You can basically see what i'm talking about here in my overview video, this was originally a unlisted video that I linked to in another video on my channel. I however have now made the video public just in-case, it might help somebody eventually. It's also a good way to share customized vehicles with friends, rare, unobtainables etc etc etc.
I might eventually make a thread about this idk lol. It's kinda hard to make a thread for a tool that spans across multiple saints row games across numerous platforms.

Hey, would it be possible to plug in the names of the DLC vehicles into to one of the vehicle dealers and have them sell them, if so, that would be a good mod idea. My suggestion would be the modded vehicle dealer in the Buy Jove building that you get as standard with a GOTR patch.

It could be done easily enough on pc. Really it's just adding a couple of entries to the Car_Dealership.xtbl. So if you can edit and repack xtbls (I'm assuming you are asking about the console version on Xenia) then it shouldn't be a problem.
Nah, I was asking about the PC version. I just wanted to ask if it was theoretically possible so I could either attempt to make the mod myself or get someone else to make it.

The only down side that I can see might be that the file formats might be different from the console, so converting them might be an issue, but if you can introduce those vehicles into the pc version, then adding the cars would basically be just a matter of copying existing entries and changing the car names, and possibly the variant names.

Foam Cup made a tutorial about adding new vehicles:
and theres also replacing cars:

It's currently not possible on pc to get the dlc vehicles, mostly considering the DLC vehicles were never released on the pc ports.
File formats are also different across the platforms endian-ness, padding, etc. Somebody would have to make tools to port them, which hasn't been done yet.
