SR4 customization in SR3

I'm loving all the customization options volition added in SR4. After it comes out, would it feasible to transfer some of the new stuff into SR3? (hair and clothes sound reasonable) I don't know a goddamned thing about modding, but it seems like it wouldn't be that hard seeing that the engine looks almost the same.

Remember, I know absolutely nothing about modding. I am aware of how stupid this request might be.
 
Correct me if im wrong but i know they did mention you CAN transfer your SR3 character to SR4 so i'm guessing it could be easily reversed...it's just you would need to put the new clothing in the right area...or hair style
 
If you mean transfer assets from Saints Row 4 to Saints Row 3 I don't think Volition would allow it. The problem is that game companies outsource a lot of game asset work to freelance artists. This can become a legal nightmare when you start moving assets from one game to another. (Even if they are part of the same series and from the same company).

We will have to see when SRIV comes out what Volition stand point on the issue is.
 
A shame, I hoped someone could bring the Hair Styles from IV to The Third... I was also hoping for a mod that stops the game adding things to your OUTFITS section, so that only the ones you made and saved yourself live there.

It was a thing that annoyed me in SR:TT too, especially if you buy DLC.
 
My post above is out of date. Idolninja has said that Volition says it's fine to move assets from one Saints Row game to another, just don't go over the top and convert the whole thing or use assets from a console version of the game.
