SRV Ideas thread.

Interestingly enough it was hinted at in SR3 that STAG and the Syndicate got most of their high-end tech from Ultor. So who knows just how powerful they would've been if they had some "Outside Help". Speaking of Ultor in the two story DLC's for SR2 Corporate Warfare and Ultor Exposed it's revealed that Ultor made several failed attempts to create a set of super-soldiers under the guise of "helping miners and other blue collar workers" as well as a set of military grade vehicles and later on a certain treacherous d-bag *cough Dex* sold said technology to a group of presumably powerful organizations. To further prove this point Gryphon mentions that most of the Ultor execs including Dex would likely sell any surplus or even new equipment to a large private or military faction than a "nutjob holed up in a compound". This could explain why in SR3 we had the Brutes and Specials. Because they were likely the result of said deal between Ultor and the "unnamed third parties". The Money Shot DLC even semi-confirms this by saying that the Spectre was originally an Ultor prototype that was later on sold to the US Military

The Saints have factory that it makes everything the like as they wish :)

No mission where the Boss is replaced by a random estabilished characher - no mission like 'from Asha with love' and 'my name is Cyrus Temple'

Gameplay wise I think the weapon categories should consist of Melee Weapons, Unarmed Combat (which has a total of different four different styles; these are Parkour, Boxer, Wrestler and Martial Arts), Improvised Weapons; this time around they work in a fashion similar to the Dead Rising games, Pistols, SMG's, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Heavy Rifles (LMG's and Semi-Auto Rifles), Explosives, Grenades, and finally Specials.

For NPC ai it should defiantly be more varied. For example drug dealers selling Loa Dust, people playing various instruments, blue collar workers cleaning up or repairing miscellaneous objects and maybe after a recent rampage you would see medical crews, firefighters and tow trucks arrive on the scene to clean up your mess.

As for enemy ai it would be nice if they did more than stand out in the open like a bunch of idiots. For example you would have enemies dragging their injured comrades to safety, sliding over car hoods, tipping over objects to use as cover, rappelling down the sides of buildings, using various parkour moves, some enemies might spawn with a special weapon, or if they run out of ammo they might grab the nearest gun or use an improvised weapon etc.

Finally as I said in a few other posts replace super sprint and super jump with parkour. Think Mirrors Edge styled free running mixed together with the ability to scale buildings like in Crackdown or Infamous, a grapple hook like what we've seen in Just Cause 2 and parachute physics similar to GTA 5. Maybe even have certain objects in the world provide special bonuses. You could jump on top of a cars roof and use it as a mobile platform, or steal say a bike, skateboard, roller skates or even a segway as another method to navigate the city.

As for character customization let us apply multiple clothing layers, have more VO options, let us change the color of our clothing via the wardrobe and let us create our own custom clothes, tattoos and maybe weapon models in some sort of in-game editor. They should let you save multiple characters in an archive that you can access later in Image as Designed. Soul Caliber 5 had this feature so I think it would be perfect for Saints Row 5. Of course upgrades wouldn't be carried over but it would be nice if we can that than say put the fame in wibdow mode, open up a text editor and painstakingly type all of the character data because the actual SR Website is permanently down.

- A city on a island so small that it takes a minute to run/drive across the widest point.

- Side-activities as the main mission.

- Painfully done musical numbers.

- Johnny Gat dies again, this time he won't be coming back. How does he die? Some mook shoots him in the knee, then stabs him. In five seconds.

- NPCs all look the exact same and walk aimlessly along the city.

- Said city looks like Steelport.

- Kinzie betrays the Saints and almost obliterates the crew in the very beginning of the game. The Boss must now rebuild the Saints.

- No customization allowed. The Boss we see in the trailers is what we get.

- No vehicles. We can fly and shoot spells with masterful ease by Level 2.

- Kinzie used some sort of de-aging ray and . . . turned Pierce into a boy. All missions with him now involve escorts and he's ten times more annoying and his voice sounds like someone's scratching a chalkboard while reading 50 Shades of Gray. Why? Because he pushed Boss out of the way of the de-aging beam.

- Asha betrays her country to Kinzie's army because reasons.

- Shaundi is back to the irritable, grumpy self she was in SR3.

- The Boss is now so stupidly goofy and charming that he makes the actual SR3 Boss seem cold and cruel.

- NIGHTBLADE GALORE!!!!

- The Boss starts the game with dual weaponry, infinite health and stamina and ammo that never runs out.

- No radio stations of any kind.

- The Boss recruits Satan's legions and the Zin Army including all the gangs he/she had ever fought to stop Kinzie.

- The plot is basically Saints Row the Third, but this time there's only one bad guy, Kinzie. What is her evil plot? To declare herself the ruler of the world and everyone else must kowtow to her and obey her every command. “I'm the Supreme Goddess-Emperor of the Universe and Herald of the Epoch!” she says with a loud cry in the beginning.

- Pierce's 'return to adulthood' quest is resolved when he drinks his infamous Saints Flow. This newfound ability is never discussed ever again. It's revealed after a fight with Kinzie that resulted in his left hand being lopped off that he is the Boss's father! We learn how this is via flashback. Basically, the Zin time machine. That's all.

- Kinzie's stupidly hard to beat because she's basically the Goddess of Everything.

- Johnny Tag returns and the Boss treats him like an oversized version of Johnny Gat.

- The final battle goes like this: Saintszilla, a newfound creature created by Shaundi and Matt Miller, emerges and wipes out the bad guys in seconds.

- Kinzie emerges from the rubble because at this point, she's an android. She one-shots Boss. Boss dies. She flies away on a broomstick cackling evilly. Pierce swears revenge for “killing my son/daughter. . .” SEQUEL BAITING!!!

:p

I haven't, like, gone through this whole thread to see whether or not I am the first to think of this (I doubt I am), but I have always wondered why The Saints haven't just gone back in time in order to save Earth. That seems like it would be a bit of a priority what with the time machine and all. I just wanna throw that out there.

'Logic' doesn't seem to exist within their vocabulary. :p Knowing them, they'll one day go, "Wait, we have a time machine. Why are we sitting here on a spaceship when we could be going back to save Earth before Zinyak destroyed it?" "...We were going to get around to it eventually..."

I don't know. If you think it through, if they save the earth they would never have had been captured, nor have found out about the time machine at all, meaning they couldn't have saved the earth. Unless they'd change world lines while time travelling, then nothing could go wrong. :I
