SRV Ideas thread.

Makes you wonder if Volition actually looks at threads like this, doesn't it?

They should just hire everyone in this thread as their creative team.

Well to be fair unlike Overkill Volition seems to listen to at least some of the ideas from the fans. Most notably the huge amount of fanservice to SR1 and SR2 in SR4.

Continue with the super abilities, follow Gat out of Hell & make the SaintsRow series the new Darksiders.
I don't think GooH was canon was it? The Saints were still in their ship, in their suits, remember? In the true ending to SR4 the Saints get that time machine, which I don't think they would just put off using for no reason so...

Layered clothing along with various other customization options for clothing, vehicles, and weapons.

A life like open world with pedestrians doing various different things, much like Saints Row 2's world.

Diverse neighborhoods. Like one being the rundowned projects and ghettos,a big city, suburbs, etc. This makes the world seem bigger and each neighborhood unique.

I would love for us to be able to finally customize planes and helicopters along with boats.

More customization for personality such as walking style, fighting style, facial expressions, and I think it'd be cool to have the option of us choosing how our characters hold their weapons.

I hope not because that's unimaginative, why go with the realistic grounded approach every other developer is going with.

I honestly don't think realistic grounded games are as popular as they are the large majority in the market.
Kinda hard to choose anything else when the options are slim.

AWESOME another realistic grounded game, YAY........why rush to buy it when i can wait for a price drop.
Realism is a gaming industry trend i want it to end soon.
I think graphical realism is a very important element of open world games because it makes the game more believable and immersive. It is the canvas upon which the story and the world is painted. To me, graphical realism is a big selling point, and it greatly increases my enjoyment of the game. The more realistic the better!

But graphical realism is only one type of realism. There's also literary realism, which basically refers to "the faithful representation of reality". I am assuming this is the type of realism you're referring to, VSW. And I totally agree -- literary realism has no place in a Saints Row game! That's actually why I like Saints Row stories better than GTA, for example. I love the creative, funny and over-the-top stories and environments they create. I think that's the main selling point of Saints Row games. And they make me laugh -- a lot!
