SSRT closes after choosing directx

been having a weird problem with Saints Row: The Third on Steam. Whenever I launch it and choose which DirectX to use (I usually pick DirectX10/11) the game closes out without starting up.

I hope somebody can help me figure this out.
 
Dang that sounds obscure as heck. Have you managed to play it before? The process closes before even the THQ logo?
Renaming/deleting display.ini might work to reset your video settings. You could also try the same for the logo videos so it doesn't need to play them.
Otherwise, posting your specs might help
