Could you let me know which file to edit to switch Super Pierce with White House Pierce? I'd download this mod, but it conflicts with the NPC Behaviour mod, so I'm using that in conjunction with Idolninja's mod that makes homies use their original outfits.

You just have to edit character.xtbl. Search for the line, "<Character>npc_Pierce_sim</Character>", and replace it with, "<Character>saints_male_pierceprez</Character>".


I just ran into a bug. The game doesn't seem to recognize Shaundi on the ship with the optional white house clothing replacement skins. I completed the Secret Admirer quest and I went back to the ship to meet with Shaundi and she didn't acknowledge the quest completion. I then clicked on the quest itself in the phone and it said the homie wasn't available.

Added: I should also note the first time I boarded the ship with the white house homies, it prompted me to press z to recruit them. Perhaps they have a labeling issue where the game thinks they are the simulation players.

When you say the optional white house replacement skins, do you mean the recolors? If so, then it's because the recolors don't affect the ship homies yet. If Shaundi is spawning on the ship in the spacesuit, then I'll have to look into it... As for the recruitment thingy, I'll try and see see what's causing it. Thanks for your bug report!

I didn't have that happen, but I have a few bugs as well...Shaundi using the Saints Pallette option, her outfit is all white, on the ship only, in the simulation she appears like your screen shots. And per your Readme instructions that come with version 2.2...Do you simply put the npc_color_palette.xtbl file in the SRIV installation directory as well? You don't mention what should be done for that. (just asking in case it has to go some place else for the ship to see the outfit changes).
The mission "Talkie Talkie"...where you go speak with Matt for 'spreading game play out'. *rolls eyes* Really Volition? Anyways, his Homie comes back as "Unavailable". So it basically prevents you from continuing on in the main quest...since you need to talk to Matt in order to get to the next mission, "The girl who hates the 50's"
Love that you put Johnny back in his street clothing. He just didn't 'look like Johnny'...in that corny space suit. And Ben King...for some odd reason he's appearing on the ship as one of the White House secret service guys. Hair, beard, and in a suit and tie. But that's a bug I can live with. LOL! I kind of like that look on him. (But wanted to report it anyways).

Oh, and just a suggestion...Thought of this after posting my bug report above this.

But I noticed that during the Kinzie Gambit mission and Talkie Talkie one....Kinzie and Keith David are naturally gone from being available. Kinzie being captured by the Zin and Keith off in his own little dream world of becoming President. So it makes sense that their darkened out in your phone contacts. BUT your new added Homies ARE available. At a time like that, I'd suspect that calling them would get buggy???

So my suggestion is to not have them available at this period of time.


*Editing in a few hours later* - OK, I had some nasty issues with this mod tonight. As I mentioned in my post above this one, Matt at one time was showing as 'Unavailable'. This also struck Asha. I began her MI6 missions. (Run the race, stop Zin patrol, protect Virus Injection, shut down Hot spot) When I finished the last part of that series of quests, I was SUPPOSED to meet up with Asha back on the ship. Whenever I'd highlight that portion in my journal, I'd get the "Homie Unavailable" window. She was on the ship and I could talk to her. She'd just never acknowledge the quest being finished. So then I uninstalled your mod. That didn't solve it. I went back in save games prior to starting the quest. That didn't solve it. I had to go back a really good portion, to a save game prior to me installing your mod.

It was really weird. However, I have been having some issues recently. Issues even prior to your mod. So I don't want to alarm anyone against using your mod. I might just be due to issues that I've been having. I don't know. I did just want to make you aware of it though. I'm kind of disappointed too. I wanted Asha's White House model. I just like it a lot better.

The NPC color palette file does go in the SRIV directory with the .exe. Calling Keith and Kinzie when their normal contacts are unavailable would not get buggy AFAIK. And as for the "Homie for this mission is unavailable" thing: I've been having these troubles too, even without my mod installed, so I think it would suffice to say that my mod will probably f*ck up your saves now. I'd suggest not using my mod mid-game until I can solve these issues... Damn. I think the best course of action would be for me to build this mod from the ground up again, maybe there was a game update I forgot to update my mod for...

Well, glad you like my mod anyway, even with the metric fuckton of issues that have sprung up...

Not the recolors, but the white house outfits that replace the ship outfits. Shaundi also was wearing a white dress instead of black on ship, but I liked it, not realizing it could be a bug. I should also tell you that I got another "homie not available" error with Matt Miller last night when I was supposed to meet him aboard ship.

There was that 1.1 GB patch that came out on Dec. 10th. So maybe that messed up how your mod interacts now with the game??? I don't know, I'm no modder. But yeah, I did make the mistake of adding it in during a mid save point...so maybe a new game wouldn't get hit so much.

I definitely like you mod and hope you keep tweaking it. Or....if need be, rebuilding it. Thanks for making and sharing it! :D

I am having the same issue with my homies becoming "unavailable" for quests. I would suggest making a mention of it in the bugs section of the first post until it can be resolved. Just a suggestion.
 
This is a great mod! But you wouldn't mind making the crew wear their simulation 31 outfits would you? I like the outfits from Saints Row The Third a bit better and it would awesome if I could get that, as well as Asha in her MI6 uniform. If not, it's still fine. Thanks!
