Things To Do In Steelport - Family-Friendly Edition

You could just kill all mods and reinstall with just the options you want, and it's incredibly easy to do. Simply delete all files from the root of your SRTT install where the exe is, but leave all the subfolders! Then verify integrity. This will effectively remove all mods and you will only have to redownload ~20Mb of data with the verify. You would then be at a completely vanilla install and can manually install whatever mods you want.

I have a fairly complicated (by my standards) merged setup going, with a lot of little tweaks here & there, which is otherwise miraculously stable; so, honestly, if my options are to trash everything and start over or deal with heavy trucks, I'll just settle with getting flattened every now and then. I was hoping that there was maybe a solution involving either removing or editing specific .xtbl files that might straighten it out.

Thanks for the advice nonetheless!

Heavy trucks are crashing everything on their way even without that add-on. It is part of original Shitface's Weapon Re-Balance Mod. I don't exactly know how to disable that feature, but there are 3 truck_2dr_... .xtbl files in original TTDiS release.
Edit: Shitface's original thread says to delete every truck_... .xtbl file in SR3 directory. Try that.

Ok, I will back those other truck files up first, then try deleting all but the fire truck (as is mentioned in the original thread, I believe).

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll post again or edit this post to report my findings.

Well, at least it's showing progress by behaving differently. Now it's only crashing. o_O
I can progress to presets list, but by selecting preset game crashes. Tried it with Friendly and Naughty editions. Deleted "customize_player.asm_pc" as well.
By removing JD Customization it loads the creation stage just fine.
I'll look it up this weekend, stay tight. :)
I apologize in advance if this question could easily have been answered myself with some reading (I have exhausted my Google abilities, it seems), or if I am otherwise in error. I'm an experienced modder, in general, but elements of Saints Row modding continue to elude me, so I am forced to finally ask for help.

I initially installed TTDIS with the optional heavy trucks add-on. I have since decided that I'd prefer not to have that add-on. I followed what I believe to be the instructions for removal of that mod (deleting the truck_2dr .xtbl files associated with it), but garbage trucks and other large vehicles are still flattening anything in their way.

What am I missing? Are these backed up in some packfile somewhere or something?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may provide!
Well, original pack makes just two trucks crush other vehicles by default - these are Longhauler and Mule. Heavy trucks add-on gives that ability to all other trucks in the game.
Removing all files called 'truck_2dr_[name]_veh.xtbl' + 'sp_ambulance01_veh.xtbl' should get rid of that feature once and for all (just make sure to copy 'truck_2dr_fire01_veh.xtbl' from the files folder once you're done - otherwise Blaze won't work properly). Are you sure you deleted them from your install folder?

nevermind the customization,i have a more important problem:trucks are smahing me even though i do not have the heavy trucks addon, any way to fix this?its really annoying

Uh, would you bother to read the last page at least before asking a question?
