Things You Don't Want in SR5

Just to clarify, I am assuming you would prefer to see improved clothing and hair mechanics, not less or none. Your statement could be mistaken for the later, and I would be horrified if they eliminated clothing and hair mechanics and made it look like GTA 5! The clothing and hair mechanics was always one of my favorite features of SR, although I would definitely like to see less restrictions on hair/clothing combinations (i.e. hair/clothing collision detection).

Yeah. It made absolutely no sense why we couldn't wear the gas mask with a hoodie or how long hairstyles would revert to a pony tail every time you wore a coat.
Oh and whatever you do Volition don't make an open world map as bland, ugly and awful as SR4 Steelport again, please.
Oh and lastly if you're going to thrown in LOL-SO RANDOM factions like the zombies, no-name terrorists, Zyn or Hell's Legion\Sinterpol then make sure they actually fit into the plot and aren't taken out in a single mission. No seriously Zinyak's reasoning for invading earth and Satan's excuse for kidnapping the Boss screams bad writing.

That's why I said SR:TT and SR;IV, because SR2's clothing and hair mechanics were much better.

1. I don't want to see more awful joke characters like Keith David wasting time that could've been spent on developing the actual characters. The devs give way too little credit to them, they could deliver a decent story if just given a chance and a breather from all that referencing of other, probably much better things.

2. This amount of "killing your darlings". 3 and 4 feel like bare skeletons of a game compared to 1 and 2, like it's too obvious how much they cut out. These are sandbox games and players expect a lot of things to do, it doesn't all have to be something huge and impressive and 100% polished.

3. Having to level up to unlock perks and then having to freaking buy them too is garbage. I want the old activities/diversions based unlock system back.

4. If Volition can't make aliens and christian hell any more interesting than this generic cookie-cutter shit, I don't want to see it anymore. I really do miss the goofy glamorised gangster nonsense.

5. Dumbing down the customisation system, like others have said already. Just because you can make it worse - no wait sorry - more "streamlined", doesn't mean you have to. The lack of ambition at Volition is amazing.

6. If Alex Mendoza isnt one of the Boss voices again I aint buying it  Seriously though Volition stop talking about inclusivity and how Boss can totes be anyone when you've been making the voice selection for them, actor and/or presentation-wise, more and more white every game since 2. Also bring back Mendoza he's the best Boss

I actually miss that too. I liked the style and the clothes and the cool cars -- integrated into the story! Nothing beats gratuitous violence, excessive materialism, and don't forget debauchery! That's what made Saints Row great! :D

I agree. I don't want to push a button and have a car or other vehicle appear in front of me when I'm not in my garage, or push a button and have it suddenly saved anywhere! I want to have to actually go to the garage or heliport or airport or boat dock, get the vehicle (or store the vehicle), and then drive away or take off. And, actually, I think car customization should be done at Rim Jobs or another mechanic (like Saints Row 1 and 2), not in your garage. Otherwise, what's the point of having auto shops? (and I like auto shops)

And, for the thing I don't want, please don't have no checkpoints! I think they've already got that one covered, but I'm playing Saints Row 1 and I'm VERY annoyed at the lack of checkpoints.
