Unable to load to main menu when modded

I picked up SR4 Re-Elected edition as Epic games weekly free game, but it won't load to the main menu if there's any mods. After the intro splash screen, there's a loading screen with a bar about 3/4 full but it locks up my system, I have to ctrl+alt+del and sign out to close the game. I've extracted the mods first to E:\epic\Epic Games\SaintsRowIV\mods and then to the main install directory. Anyone know if the EGS version just hates mods?

Not only EGS.
 
I think I need to put an info somewhere that the re-elected build (which Epic version uses) broke like 90% of all mods
 
The game is broken not only with mods, but without also, including, I can not play on steam, the game just closes without any mod.
