If CTG is Core Tech Group,
Maybe CTS is Core Tech Stuff.
CTS predates CTG by a good margin I believe. I've asked around and can't find anyone who remembers what CTS stands for anymore.

For a brief time on SR1 there was a core tools team, but that got poached quickly. I suspect this may be one of those "lost in history" things...
