SRIV Why i hate SR IV

I'm a fan of saints row series, but i don't like the 4th one, and this is the reasons why i hate it.

- The city is simulated
- Crib replaced with gateway
- Few Graphic Improvement
- Cars are useless since theres supersprint
- Oleg, Viola, Angel, Zimos (ik he's in ETD) is gone
-There's almost no enterable places

I guess, that's all the reasons. What's yours?

Hate is such a strong word.

Honestly, if you hate it so much, wouldn't it be more productive and satisfying to just uninstall it and never speak of it again? Wouldn't that be better than roiling in negativity over a game that's, well, just a game?? /shrug
its just a word that i use, i don't really hate it so much, i only post the reasons why i dont like it..

Many of the landmarks were removed.
Most of the clothes from SR3 were removed or dumbed down into outfits. (I have no idea why they did it).
Some of the vehicles from SR3 were removed. (Condor, Taxi hell they even removed all the boats).
Much like how most of the activites in SR3 were escort missions (snatch, gaurdian angel, trafficking, and the ever-so-awful escort) most of the activites in SR4 was just the Mayhem activity repeated ad-nauseum.
Weather effects were extremely bland and bad compared to what we got in past games.
Instead of a large variety of enemies like in SR3 (Morningstar Snipers, Police Riot Units, Luchador Grenadiers, Decker Elites, STAG Commandos, Brutes and regular old grunts) we have grunts that look identical to one another and special units that were more annoying than fun to fight (this could be the reason why many of the npc mods on here get rid of or tone down the Wardens, Marauders and Murderbots).
Seems to be less stable with mods than SR3. (Couldn't tell you how many times my game crashed.)
DLC Mission Packs were much shorter than any of the SR3 Mission Packs.
Pulls an SR3 were important characters from past games never make an appearance or are very briefly shown\mentioned For example Oleg, Birk, Viola, Zimos, Dex, Troy and the SR3 dlc characters (Jimmy, Jenny, Genki Girls, Tammy).

I think it wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was an entirely new city, but the fact that it takes place in the same exact city, street for street as the last game meant it has less going for it. I still put hours of game time into Saints Row but most of that goes into SR2/SR3.

ill give you this: at LEAST its not whining about how "its not sr2." youtube is FLOODED with this shit. sr2 is a good game... but it really hasnt aged all that well. seems the "die hards" (sarcasm) won't try anything new and just want "gta clone but slightly better" instead of... i dunno... evolving into something else!
my main complaint with sr4 is the city. its just a recycled steelport. i would have loved to have a new city to destroy with my godlike powers.

We don't want a GTA clone. But we don't want stupid space crap filled with nonsense either. If Saints Row is going that way, rename the series and let the SR series die with whatever dignity it has left.

But since this is Volition-Deep Silver we're talking about, don't get your hopes up. Deep Silver is so smart they also just axed the developer for Dead Island 2. What are you doing Derp-Silver? Trying to pull a Konami?

Do I hope it turns around and Volition/DS do amazingly on SR5? Hell yes, the SR series was great in the past.

I'm rooting for Volition, even if it sounds like I completely hate them. I've put hundreds of hours into Saints Row, but at this point it really seems like they are ignoring their more mature fanbase in favor of the ones who prefer sophomoric humor (this is likely the same fanbase who enjoys people like PewDie yelling nonsense into a microphone). I never found it entertaining, but then again i'm in my mid 20s so any "high school humor" left in me has already evaporated.

I'm sure some people read my posts and think i'm the biggest asshole here, but whatever. The stuff I say could only come from someone who you know genuinely loves the series for what it was. I was sort of active on this forum, but I will stay quiet until some hints at SR5 actually come out. There really is nothing else left to say.

I, on the other hand....absolutely adore sr4. if my computer werent so crappy id be playing it a lot more. this is from someone who started with sr2. i dont mind all the sillyness. i EMBRACE the sillyness. this was what volition originally wanted but COULDNT due to hardware limitations. the one flaw i really see in all this is the lame ass city of steelport. i mean its marginally better looking but thats mainly because of the neon lights the zin put up. but other than this.... i play it a fuck ton more than sr2. i kinda wished it were like this from the getgo. rather than sub-par gta clone.
dont misunderstand me. i love sr2 just as well... but.... come on! everyones too hard on sr4. nothing says fun like smacking an alien in the head with a tentacle bat, picking them up with tk, and chucking them off the side of a building. i mean.... i feel underneath all that sr2 was TRYING to be wacky but seriousness held it down.

Not my thing, but whatever floats your boat.
and you my friend, are a crap ton better than what i see on youtube.... -.-;
I mean it. This forum has been a much friendlier place for an sr4 fan.
