Seems like mikado's put his xtbl file through XTBL editor. The program organizes the xtbl so it doesn't look like an endless wall of text. If you load my version of the xtbl through that program, it'll look the same once you save it. Also: You just need to copy the first 4 entries (up until...
You find an item to replace, you unpack its assets and the item you want to replace it with. You just copy the files and rename them appropriately so they would load as-is by the asm file.
Ah, I see. Merging the files yourself isn't too much trouble. For the asm files you just need to run Minimaul's stream2update once and you're good to go.
You've seen what happened with SR:TT's Steelport Gangs DLC pack, right? The developers already fixed the issues with it, but their updates were not sent forward. They don't have control over what goes into an update and what doesn't, so I think they just made a decision to remove this...
Thanks for that link scanti, it's definitely an interesting read (I didn't know they outsourced stuff to other studios... that explains a lot). This also made me giggle a bit: "My recommendation…avoid customization unless it is critical for your game. It is very difficult, costly at runtime, and...
Oh, that's interesting. I added my enhanced gang entires on the top of the file, not the bottom, that's why the exact same issue was present in it.
Turns out that the lines are different anyway because I loaded the xtbl through bojan's Xtbl Editor.
I'm using Photoshop. Every 3-color texture has each part of the texture painted on one channel, and it does not show up in the others. that's why you see bright reds, blues and greens on these textures.
I apologize if my comment appeared rude to you. Anyway, pattern maps are usually divided to 3 layers - red channel controls color #1, blue channel controls color #2 etc.
So far I got several imported items in except for the Battalion trousers. As soon as you load a save game wearing these - your game will crash. I need to figure out why it's happening.
Also: I think I'll just add all of the "new" items into all stores, as with the DLC.
Since the Boss characters are made in a different way than NPCs we would need to manually put them together in order to be used as an NPC... which means that currently it is impossible to do.
Hey Minimaul. Could you possibly alter Stream2Update so that it'll also update the specific file sizes within str2 files? Unless we edit those manually, the game crashes. Can't this process be automated?
