Dev Diary #1 debug features

I just finished watching Dev Diary #1 and I saw what looked like some kind of level editor and a bunch of debugging stuff. Is this something modders will ever have? I don't mean right away; I just mean at some point within a reasonable amount of time.

The editor is something that I, personally, would love to see in the SDK as I'm sure a lot of the other guys and gals at Volition would. The problem there is the super-tight interweaving of the editor in with our version control system and many other internal-only systems. It would take a massive amount of work and a lot of novel solutions to get it ready to go out of the door. I don't see a way for that to happen without Koch and Volition getting behind modding in a paying way. Right now we do this on the side in our personal time out of love for the game and the fans, but something that large just wouldn't make it out in a reasonable amount of time in that manner.

I would totally pledge to a kickstarter for access to the debug console. If that is something Koch and Volition would be interested in trying.

Fyi, Mike was referring to the editor. He didn't mention the console. Maybe the console would be really easy to release, or it could be even harder than the editor. Either way, Kickstarter is a good idea for the editor, and I guess the debug features if necessary.

What was the console again?
Well a lot of games have a development console where you can type commands to activate debug features/cheats/etc; I assume he's referring to something like that. I believe there was actually a mission in SRIV where a fake one was shown.

If its what you just said, I totally would want that.
