Or "drop tank 3"?

Actually, wouldn't releasing the console make the cheat DLC kind of redundant? Not that that's an excuse not to. I thought that was THQ's idea to make that DLC, but now Deep Silver is doing it too. I doubt it was Volition's idea.

Not really the cheat dlc as much as the whole in-game phone cheat thing. We've talked about just beefing up the phone cheats with the other cheats you would want as part of the debug console as well. Not sure which way it will go currently.

Someone of you said something about a character command.

Well the way I was thinking you'd release it is to have the console disabled by default, so most players who want to cheat would just use the phone cheats. But the console would be better for modders; that way they could have the same commands Volition used to create the game. If I wanted to use the console, I could just enable it by setting a configuration key or command line parameter or something. And it wouldn't make the phone cheats redundant for Xbox 360/PS3 players, as ironically only PC players can use the console.

While I can't be positive, I'm sure a lot of people here would rather have the console released than just more phone cheats; that way even if Volition doesn't see a use for a certain command in modding, if someone finds a use for it it could still be used.

The problem here is that we just can't turn on the console and ship it. It is pretty dug in to the debug code both in the commands it offers and just the code itself. What would most likely happen is we would make a new console macro specifically for shipping builds and have to go flag console commands to be included in that version.

:( I been obsessed with this console ever since I seen it accidentally exposed on your pre-release livestream :p (wasn't that on an xbox, btw? I'm guessing it wasn't a release xbox though, but a dev unit.)

Debug console DLC could work. I mean the current cheat DLC is noob friendly, the cheats are already added to the phone. Debug console would require a bit more effort to use, so it wouldn't completely conflict with the current cheat DLC.
