Ideas For Saints Row 4

Nah, I never cared much for cheats. How about a new way to upgrade your character? Just picking them in a upgrade screen was so out of place. Do it Skyrim style. =P The more you use your pistol, the better you get at shooting. The more you run, the longer your sprint bar will get. The more you take damage, the more you can take. Perhaps a perk screen as well when you get enough XP points where you can choose perks like:

- Get less damage from fire, falling, cars, explosions.
- Lose notoriety faster from one of the gangs/cops.
- Get more money from killing pimps/gangs/robbing.
- etc.

Upgrade your weapons more in Friendly Fire, allowing them to deal more damage and hold more bullets and perhaps chance the way they look by choosing colours and designs like the Saints Row 2 pistol. And more different kinds of weapons and of course the choise to have dual pistols or single, that you can choose at all times in your safehouse/friendly fire.

Be able to customise your safehouses' interiors. Different walls, floors, furniture. See cutscenes when you start the first level of an activity and more activities. Day/night cycle and base some activities on the time of day like street racing at night or fightclubs in a dark alley. More activity rewards like unique clothing sets, cars, weapons, skills, fighting styles, moving styles.

More activities like Crowd Control, Demolition Derby, Fight Club, Fuzz, Septic Avenger, Piracy, and perhaps some new ones or just more varieties of the ones they have now and had in SR 2. Instead of just 2, put in 4 of every activity in a different setting. Fuzz will be mostly the same, but why not 2 rounds of pleasing your camera man, and 2 rounds of a special agency asking for the protagonists help with 6 missions? You get to wear a tux and do James Bond like missions.
Crowd Control with 2 rounds of protecting some celeb, and 2 rounds of beeing a bouncer at a club, throwing out missfits. They did it with Trailblazer in SR: TT. You had the Tron-bike version and the normal version. Escort you also had a normal version and a tiger version.

Here is a far fetched idea that could be cool. Bring stealth into the game for example with Hitman missions. Dress up like one of the ( whoever the enemy gangs will be in IV ) and just walk inside without them attacking you unless they see you for to long. Find your target, follow him/her to a secluded location and kill him, then just walk out. Or just stealth in general. Hide from your enemy so they will start to search for you so you have time to regenerage your health, then pick them off one by one without them noticing. You already had the silenced gun in SR: TT, why not give it purpose? And perhaps a wall-hugging move for better cover. Most of the third person shooters have that nowadays, so why not bring it to the Saints? Would look cool if an army of cops were all positioned behind copcars, shooting at you while you cover behind your car, seeing your character grin because he/she is enjoying him/herself.

More clothing options. Be able to build up your costume from undies up. Choose undies, top, shirt, coat, pants, socks, shoes and misc items, glasses, hats, masks, and be able to wear them all at once so you can make your own sets. And more character costumisations like your walking style, fighting style, hight, idle style ( like how your character will dance if you are idle longer then 10 seconds in a dance club or how your char plays with one of your weapons of cellphone when idle longer then 10 seconds outside ). And a barber shop so you can change your hairstyle for a few dollars instead of paying 500 in Imaged as Designed.

And another idea I had that could be fun is a good/bad meter. And not talking about how you get more bad when you drive over civilians as that is kinda hard not to do in Saints Row, but the outcome of several missions where there is a good ending, or a bad ending. They already had those a bit in Saints row 3, but other then one building beeing destroyed and the statue beeing blown up, you don't really see any changes. Let them have more impact and have more endings where you can choose. With the good choises, the city gets cleaner and more peacefull and the civilians will become fans again. With the bad choises, the city gets dirtyer, there is more fighting on the street, more bums, more drinking, more drug use and civilians hate you. It won't have any impact on the story itself, but will add when you are just going around in the city to look for collectibles.

Strongholds need to return! Fight for control in your city/cities. Why would beating a Genki show give you a hood? Would the enemy gang be like: "woah, he beated the Genki show. We better back off and let the Saints own this hood."? No, of course not. Unless they are really chicken... Bring back the strongholds. They were hard and fun to do. You really had to fight for your hood. And even if you owned it, the enemy could still try and retake the hood so you had to go back to defeat the enemy commanders. And only after you own a hood, you are able to buy property in that hood. Made more sense that way. Kept you from buying and expanding from the beginning where you made millions within a hour of gametime.

Those are some of the ideas I had. In general, it's more of Saints Row 2 mixed with Saints Row 3 to make a great Saints Row IV.

Oh, and one more, a bullet cam? When you kill the last gang member of a large group, you follow the bullet in slow-mo untill it enters the enemy's ( wherever you shot at ). Could be cool in single player.

They didn't have a larger image...

Nothing against that list you have or anything, but I don't expect them to _ever_ come in the game.
Not even layered clothing or wear options will turn back, for a very _weak_ and _lame_ reason.

You never know. And I don't expect any of this ( Or most if it ) to be present in IV, but who knows how V will be? And I have a feeling V will come in 3 years or so. The very weak and lame reason they weren't in 3 was because THQ needed the cash and they needed Saints Row 3 to be released ASAP. The same with 4, though they did not survive long enough. But with a new company, who knows what Volition can achieve for the next Saints Row game.

I suppose this is the end of the series, as one of the devs said in an interview that this is (something like this, memory bugs me) "the last chapter of the saga".
I don't hope so though, they can still go one step further. (Emperor of the universe or something).
Or they just can go and take their eyes on a different gang, or just a different part of the saints.
But really it'll be disappointing if they would stop making this kind of game.

Oh yeah and in the interview with Steve Jaros, Steve said that they won't be doing any layered clothes because of some reasons with the NPCs. The NPCs in SRIII and SRIV have all their own mesh, while all the NPCs, and the player character, had the same skeleton. 'Which actually gave them the reason to use that system of clothing.' I suppose, now that all NPCs have their own mesh, which is _purely_ to have better and smoother animations, there's "no_reason_anymore" to utilize that system. Which, to me, is _total_bullshit_.
That system won't be there anymore for the NPCs, but that doesn't mean the player shouldn't be able to have layered clothing...

If I were a betting man, I'd put a lot of money on this just being the end of The Boss' story. From here we'll either get a reboot or a spinoff. I simply can't see Koch buying Volition and SR for such a pretty penny, only to kill the series after one game. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that they'll probably branch the series off into two, where one is over-the-top like SR3 and one is more-grounded like SR2. After all, Volition needs another series since Koch didn't get Red Faction.

They actually said: "This will be the last Saints Row as we know it." Wich suggest that the next Saints Row could be a next gen game that is bigger and better visually, and perhaps a reboot of the series, wich doesn't really matter. I just hope they keep the character creation in the game, because that is one of the things that makes SR a better game then GTA.

Or worst case scenario? Koch bought Volition because Koch thinks SR4 can make more money than they spent on Volition and after SR4 had brought in the money, they'll get rid of Volition again.

PART II: Basic Posting Common Sense
1. DO NOT double/triple/quadruple/etc post. If you have something else to say then use the EDIT button instead of adding multiple posts in a row. There are obvious exceptions to this rule for authors of mod releases that require frequent updating, or if you are reviving an older thread with new important information.
