Generally Awesome
A certain amount of banter is permitted. Deliberate and consistent hostility and flamebaiting are not.
Piracy is not allowed on the forum for two reasons: it discourages an open relationship with the publisher and it wastes the time of mod developers who are asked to support and troubleshoot old versions of the game. I think the first one is fairly obvious. People here have varying views on piracy. IdolNinja and several of the other posters like to ridicule the pirates who come here because of stupid behavior; it's rightfully deserved ridicule, considering they blatantly ignore both one of the main rules and common sense considering Volition's presence lately.
Is someone taking a moral high ground on copyright law and rubbing it in the software pirates' faces? I don't think i've seen it. I don't think i've done it. All i've seen is people pointing out how they keep coming up with the same lies and excuses about failing to follow the rules.
There's no rule that you can't participate in the forum if you pirate any kind of copyrighted material, ever. It would be unenforceable, of course, but you could have an interesting debate about whether it would be of value to do so.
"Unlocking on-disk DLC" does not occur; it is explicitly disallowed. If someone does it on their own accidentally, oh well, shit happens, but if it becomes clear they intend to keep it that way, that's a pretty clear violation of the no piracy rule. A mod that does it will be removed as soon as it's found out.
For the record, i would like demos or demo modes to be universally available. I think Ouya requires them.
