Preloading is available on Steam (8/16/13 3pm CST)

Awesome. Here I was Yesterday wondering if there was such a way to download the game, but not have access to play until the day it was released. Now I got all weekend to download it AND play SR:TT AND Read up on modding The Third.

I guess you and I are in the same boat (or at least similar), traded for a pre-order version from the US and have no pre-load option, dunno how to check when it says it will activate for me though. I don't understand why Volition would allow console owners here the chance to get the ROW version and not the PC owners like us (assuming you are an australian too)

Yeah, Aussie here.

In short, I have NFI what's going on; it was listing as "Aug 23" as earlier as a few hours ago, but now it's changed. Suffice to say, I'm not a happy chappie.
 
Someone has made a typo/mistake somewhere. Both EBgames and JB Hifi show the release date as 30-8-2013 (for both the console versions and the pc version). I'm pretty sure that neither Volition, DS, Valve, nor the retailers want people to be able to buy the game in store (without breaking the street date) but not be able to play it for 3 weeks. Leaving aside the issues surrounding selling something that is arguably not fit for purpose/of merchantable quality (although it would be unlikely that the ACCC would do anything), it makes for rather bad PR.

In Europe we can pre-load now.
I hope the game will not be bugged when we will play it.
