But the branches and leaves taken from real wood is needed to create the texture.

Because I can not go out to poor physical condition now, this mod will not progress for a while.

Because of my main PC motherboard is broken, the project can not proceed for a while.

There is a need to buy a new motherboard and CPU and memory.
It is a painful amount of money to elderly pensioners...

I can't seem to get it to work. I've placed all the files in my SR2 root directory, and it didnt work. By this I mean my ground textures like pavement and stuff.

You need to build new patch.vpp_pc file with files from 'sr2_hq_texture_pack' folder, according to instructions in the readme. Did you read it?
