SPOILERS Saints Row (2022) official info

The music at the beginning reflects my feeling about this game.

But it just show how much the Dev don't care about Fans, for how quickly she just ignore and almost shove on the mouth that "You most like the new character" when no, we don't.

It is as if teenage players of GTA V grown from 2016 to this day and try to do what GTA V show them... in a Fornite style.

Hmm, late for the news that it is now Epic's exclusive... So that makes Epic as the publisher, right?

Well, if that's the case then one can't complain much really. The last time I know it used to be THQ. And of course then Epic "can't go the THQ way" 'cause they're two different things and whole another audience with them. Well, with that in mind I guess it's fair enough -- at least for the business, not much for the fans though.

But yeah, never into Epic's stuffs so I guess that's all about it. See you when I see you, Saints.
What are you on about? This game is published by Deep Silver. The fact that Epic has an exclusivity for the distribution on PC doesn't make them the publisher.
Besides it's highly unlikely that they changed the themes of the game to appeal to the "Epic crowd", it's already a big sacrifice for a developer to take the Epic deal and forgo Steam, but if on top of that they also had to change their creative vision, the drawbacks would outweigh the benefits and no one would be working with Epic.
Even if we theorize that Deep Silver forced them to make the game sell better before the eventual Steam release, I think we would have heard about a lot of internal fighting at Volition.
For better or worse, this is the game that Volition wanted to make.

Yeah, like RPG, I'm trying to stay positive about this reboot. But they only seem to be giving us extremely vague insight into the actual gameplay. If Volition is reading these comments, please release the video you showed RPG.

I want to love this game the way I love SR1,2,&3, but I need to see some actual in-depth gameplay in order to fall in love with it first.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the characters.

Neenah and Eli take the more serious roles in the gang, and Kevin is there to fill that wacky spontaneous role.

Oh, I thought they gone full Epic Games now. My bad then, thanks for the heads-up.

Well, kind of difficult for me to believe that all these "change of directions" were all from Volition itself. And I liked it better to think that way.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. But no, they changed their style after SR2 because they were sick of being seen as nothing more than a "GTA clone".
As you said previously, companies change, it feels like Volition now, just really wants to create games that are wacky and out there, but by making a game that has Saints Row in the title they have to make it grounded on at least some levels or they'll have a massive shitstorm on their hands.

I'm not sure why they made the characters so unlikable tho. This is a stretch but maybe they got the idea to make them "relatable" because of the people saying stuff like "My boss wouldn't have said that, that's stupid, i see my boss as being smart" and "My boss would never have done that, that's way too cruel". (Even if they are the minority, it's the exact same thing that caused the tonal shift in 3) And so they tried to look at what kind of people are "relatable" nowadays. And this is how we end up with a bodybuilding influencer as a main character.

It seems to me that Volition is listening to feedback but misunderstanding it.

I'd be lying if I said that my anticipation for this game's release is entirely positive, but I guess that's technically a good thing.

If they'd created something that was essentially just Saints Row 2, but more up to date, I don't think I'd be hyped at all, and I definitely wouldn't need to see any advertisements for it. Cos I'd already know exactly what I'm getting.

Yeah I'd enjoy it, but I wouldn't really be invested in grinding out the activities, or surprised by anything in the story. Cos it's been done, if I wanted to play something like Saints Row 2, I'd just play Saints Row 2.

That's what got me intrigued by SRTT. New city, new Saints, none standard gang styles, it was different. Yes we may have lost some classic things like Septic Avenger and little details such as being able to chant with the cheerleaders, but we gained so much new stuff in its place. VTOL jets, Saints themed Towers that serve as Cribs, Tank Mayhem, Professor Genki... The list goes on.

Side Note:
I hated Kinzie's attitude towards Playa's actions, but I didn't hate Kinzie. It created a unique dialogue that didn't previously exist. I mean, who in their right mind would dare question the badass leader of the 3rd Street Saints? Everyone else would just follow orders and agree with Playa's decisions. Except Pierce, who was usually just ignored anyway.

So yes, I'm nervous about this new direction, but I'm at least going to give it a chance and see what this game really has to offer before I decide where I stand on the future of Saints Row.

What's maddening to me is that if this game really has the mind-blowing things that RPG says, why isn't Volition showing them? Do they really think it'd be a spoiler to show them? If anything, it'd get people to want to play the game more, rather than what we're getting now.

Is Peirce Washington in charge of the PR here?!

What do we get to do there? What does customization look like?

I literally, and I'm not even kidding, saw on the Saints Row twitter feed people asking if customization was still a thing. Seriously!

Love it.

For me, those CGI Trailers are just completely pointless, cos they just don't show off the actual game.

All we want is some gameplay showing off a little free roam, some activity objectives, a few mission objectives, a couple of new customization features, and maybe throw in a few cutscenes for some interesting dialogue.

Ok, I guess they did show off a few snippets of Cutscene dialogue, but is the rest of those things really too much to ask for?
