I'd be lying if I said that my anticipation for this game's release is entirely positive, but I guess that's technically a good thing.
If they'd created something that was essentially just Saints Row 2, but more up to date, I don't think I'd be hyped at all, and I definitely wouldn't need to see any advertisements for it. Cos I'd already know exactly what I'm getting.
Yeah I'd enjoy it, but I wouldn't really be invested in grinding out the activities, or surprised by anything in the story. Cos it's been done, if I wanted to play something like Saints Row 2, I'd just play Saints Row 2.
That's what got me intrigued by SRTT. New city, new Saints, none standard gang styles, it was different. Yes we may have lost some classic things like Septic Avenger and little details such as being able to chant with the cheerleaders, but we gained so much new stuff in its place. VTOL jets, Saints themed Towers that serve as Cribs, Tank Mayhem, Professor Genki... The list goes on.
Side Note:
I hated Kinzie's attitude towards Playa's actions, but I didn't hate Kinzie. It created a unique dialogue that didn't previously exist. I mean, who in their right mind would dare question the badass leader of the 3rd Street Saints? Everyone else would just follow orders and agree with Playa's decisions. Except Pierce, who was usually just ignored anyway.
So yes, I'm nervous about this new direction, but I'm at least going to give it a chance and see what this game really has to offer before I decide where I stand on the future of Saints Row.
