SRV Ideas thread.

Superpowers rendered lots of things useless in Saints Row. Unless the implementation can be changed, look forward to more of the same. Useless vehicles, and useless weapons.

On top of that, having it take place in space, it should not have Saints Row in the title. Call it Space Row and end the Saints Row series.

I think that we can keep superpowers but, maybe change the Superspeed to make it not faster than vehicles .

Or remove superspeed COMPLETELY. And make it so super powers complement weapons rather than replace them.

Wasn't there an activity in SRIV where your purpose was to cause as much damage as possible within a certain time limit? Wasn't that activity basically laughably easy because you could sprint with that tornado whatever effect that basically destroyed everything you sprinted past ending the activity in a matter of seconds.

One of the many examples of powers being a horrible addition to the series...

Well Crackdown managed to implement super-powers without rendering vehicles or weapons useless. So hopefully Volition can do the same thing for SR5. (If the super-powers even return).

@rastaman289
Yea I can see where your coming from, i've been playing Saints4 since its release.....last night too lol.
I think the abilities should be limited as much as enemy or challenge difficulty increased.
Not in a cheap way but in a way where players really earn/appreciate/ & definitely put those powers to use.

The difficulty level of Saints4 is a pushover with or without powers, Saints3 was a pushover.
Yes the abilities seem over powered, but players even on hardcore difficulty setting it's a breeze.
Wardens are under powered when players reach a certain level.
Wardens stop enemy onslaughts
There too many ways of ending confrontations quickly with little challenge.

I think the abilities are at the right power level but for easy enemies.
It's like Goku vs Batman.
No challenge.
Oh my god yes, more difficulty. It feels like I never die even on hardcore unless I just stand there and let people shoot me.

Found two very specific and very interesting news clippings in Kinzie's old Warhouse in SR4 that strangely enough relate to Ultor from SR2.

Any ideas on what these two images are hinting towards?
I'd bet my money on it simply being a teaser for Dane appearing in Gat out of Hell or a potentially hint to what we could see in SR5. (As in a return to the semi-realistic action-movie feel of SR1, SR2 and SR3).

I think there should be 3 or 4 more sequels continuing forward but bringing it to a proper close & not some cheap cop out reboot.

Keep & change the superpowers, explore the zin etc.
Keep the Saints Row name as that's a reminder to themselves where they came from.
But start killing off members with the boss being the last living Saints member hunted by planetary bounty hunters stranded on some planet like Riddick.
If SR goes out like that it better be with a bang. I would be extremely disappointed if the last Saints Row game doesn't last a long time and age well to boot. Hopefully Volition's recently found interest in PC and the modding community will help with that.

Here's an article from the website GamerSphere that says the got some hints for SR5 from an "anonymous employee at Volition" so take it with a grain of salt.

According to the article the employee in question said that SR5 will still have some "Sci-fi" elements and parody some of the more well-received movies that came out in 2013-2014. (This of course could mean anything really since the film industry is arguably just as broad and bloated as the VG industry).

But you know, Johnny Gat is one of the character that needs to be here for the whole story even if SR3 was good without him and people really like him, including me .
