SPOILERS Things that could be improved for the next installment

I agree with you actually. I loved SR 2 and 3 but SR4 felt, I don't know... half assed? It feels like a watered down SRTT but with far less "love".
Same here, it missed the magical spark that makes every game feel better.

You're a coder/and or programmer right? No? Hmm, bold that you say they could have done it.
Quality damage control. You don't even know me and you assume fallacies to try to add truth in what you say.

Even though I feel SR4 is even lazier in terms of activities and stuff than SR3, I think the story missions and a lot more polished and it's overall more fun, but the activities are just... There's no variation at all. A bunch of mayhems, a bunch of sprint activities, a bunch of jump to circle activities, Genki TK, Fight Club, Insurance Fraud and.... nothing else. I loved Fraud and Fight Club but the others felt more like placeholders.

-SEPTIC AVENGER!! and the old fight club, with the addition of new combat moves like in Saints Row 2. And the activities you start when you drive an Ambulance, Fire Truck, Cop Car and Taxicab. And put some fun rewards to finishing those activities. and of course the oldies: Fuzz, Demolition derby, Crowd Control, ho diversion, trafficking, escort.

-I really would like to see the Street racing return. That was also a ton of fun to do. But it would be fun to make it a bigger event. Not just stand over a street race target and stand at the beginning imediately. Give it an intro, a cut scene like The Fast and The Furious with girls dancing around the cars, loud music playing, a show off with the cars, and when you win, a cutscene where you get the reward or a new car. And when you lose, a cutscene where you lose your car, just to make losing hurt.

-A more alive city with the nightclubs, restaurants, bars, special locations, with different cribs you can buy and costumize. Not just buying 3 upgrades, but actually customising them like in Saints Row 2.

-A barber to change your hair cheap, not having to spend $500,- in Image as Designed every time. And more different clothing shops with different clothes in them. Sloppy Seconds for the cheap clothes, Branded for the more classy clothes, Planet Saints for the pop-idol kinda clothes, Let's pretend for the costumes, a beach shop with bathing suits, Love and Lace for the leather SM, Nobody Loves Me for the gothic and alto clothes, and that shop you had in the mall in SR2 with the different underwear. And more new ones.

-The Gang Strongholds back, the hard "instances" where you take over another fun location in the city as universities, trailer parks, strip clubs, etc.

-Selectable upgrades. If you don't like an upgrade, please give the option to turn it off.

-Dual pistols/SMG's is NOT a upgrade, but you can just pick up a 2nd handgun to wield from the ground by holding the R button a bit longer or something like in SR 2.

-Bring the virtual world back for the super power activities and some extra missions with young Shaundi who only lives in the VR.

-And what I would really love is an improved Hitman system to make you really feel like an assassin. Make it many more missions for one, because those missions are the most fun to do. But give it a Hitman feel. I had this in mind:

At the first missions, you get the target with much information. Like where the target lives/works/goes out/drives and at what time he will be at the locations. But the further you finish missions, the less information you get. Like at the last missions, you would only get one general location and one time where the target is seen so you will actually have to wait for the target to show up. You can tag "potential" targets, but actually wind up following and taking out a wrong target. And give a cash bonus to a "silent assassin" ranking like in the game Hitman. Where you kill the target without beeing seen, or by making it look like an accident. (Run him over, throw him off a high building, use the RC remote (If that returns..) to drive his car off a cliff) And it would be really fun to stalk him through nightclubs, or aboard a cruise ship, or on the road, just marking the area's he'll visit to plan an attack. And for some areas, there could be a dress code, where you have to dress classy, or like a tourist to be allowed it without sticking out for the target to spot you and flee, ruining your silent assassin ranking.
I know, it all sounds a lot like Hitman, but that game is so fun, and add that to a big city where you can plan so much, it would be a great challenge to play. Saints Row 2 had some hitman missions where you had to do something special, like calling the ambulance, fire truck, cab, or wait long enough around a certain area, or play some sort of music on the radio to lure him out. It was fun. It gave you the idea you were actually doing something more then just drive to a certain area and kill an NPC who is just a bit harder to kill then other NPC's. It wasn't that fun. Stalking, planning, playing and acting like a proffesional hitman is fun. xD

As for improvements to the engine, what I really would love to see (Though probably wouldn't ever happen) is having crashes like in Burnout Paradise. You crash and watch your car topple and roll over the asphalt to a total wreck.

And a bigger multi-player mode where you can play with 31 others in Stillwater/Steelport, doing big missions, racing, mayhem, king of the hill, capture the flag, stuff like that. And perhaps a 4 player co-op with new cutscenes from missions where the host is the main player in the cutscene and the other 3 are standing behind or around the main player, also a part of the scene. Or perhaps create special co-op missions where all co-op players play a part in the cutscene.

Yes, I know. It's a lot. But thatthe first few points wouldn't be hard to do. The more activities and the racing, shops, upgrade system and dual wielding guns really need to get closer to the old style, not just making it for lazy people who are to tired to drive around to different shops to create their ultimate outfit.

I want a SR1 ported to PC and PS3/PS4 first. Then we'll discuss SR5 (which better be more like SR2 than SR3/4)

I think V will be more like Star Trek. xD

An ability to put Saints decals on ALL THE VEHICLES!
More diversity in evil fraction vehicles.
Better crash physics. I'm not talking about cars being flattened by tanks or monster trucks, which is awesome as it is. :D

Instead of relying on Havoc Ragdoll they could add more animations to the Melee weapons. Or to say that forum catchphrase... "make it like SR2" where you can spam it to hit them, or hold it for an animation.

In Saints Row V maybe they could pull a Mortal Kombat, and retell the whole story using the new engine... but that's wishful thinking for people who want to play SR1 and 2 style games again. <3

I wouldn't mind that at all, and perhaps it could happen with the ending SR IV has. But only time will tell. ^^

Oh! So you are a coder/programmer! Great, then lets see you try to add it in when the SDK comes out! I hope you do well on adding an entire activity to the game.
