Wardrobe Color Change Mod v4

If, at any time, you have to replace one of the asm files with a version from another mod then it will break the game. In this case, vint_doc_containers.asm_pc is from interface.vpp_pc and used by many different mods; clip editor, customize all vehicles, mission replay, wardrobe color changer, etc. These mods cannot be used together unless you learn how to use gibbed's command line tools and rebuild the asm so that it works with whatever mix of mods you have.

Also, if you had to use a backup of the mod instead of the latest release then that indicates you are not using the Steam version of the game.

its not hooked up through steam, it was bought separatly (from gamestation) could that effect the mods?

If it is a legal copy (preferably with the latest patch, but that might not matter), it shouldn't be a problem.

If there are multiple mods that each come with their own vint_doc_containers.asm_pc, that's the issue.

Do you know exactly what mods you have installed?
Post a list of them (and their authors, preferably with links to the mods' topics).

It's best to keep a folder tucked away of the mods in their original file format (be it an .xtbl, game-extension file, or rar/zip archive).

I had this problem myself and luckily was in the groups Steam chatroom when IdolNinja was available to personally walk me through it.
I should be able to fix this (hopefully) for you.

Side-note: Did your game come with a Serial Number, CD Key, or any string of letters & numbers? If so, you might be able to play it through Steam anyway, and have Steam recognize it as a legal copy, letting you play with other Steam users.

All PC releases of SRTT are steamworks and require Steam. There is no standalone version version of the game and no way to simply play from the disc. This was confirmed to us directly by Volition. Your situation can only be one of two possible things:
1. You actually downloaded a pirated version of the game and are covering up.
or
2. The version you bought at the store is an illegal bootleg.

Normally, I would assume it was the first option, but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. Apparently, there is a major online retailer in the Netherlands that is actually selling pirated copies.

I will tell you this, there will be no way you can ever patch your game, since all patches will go through Steam and will never have standalone exe releases. Mods will always be a problem for you since all of our work is designed to be used with the latest Steam patched version of the game.

thats not the site i got it from :/ same logo but the layout was diffirent, think i got scammed? :(

I'm guessing you live in Europe.

What country do you live in, Josh?

EDIT: After doing some research, I found:

Saints Row: The Third requires the installation and registration of a (free) Steam account.

It seems that up to this point, you have been playing the game, which implies you got it to install without installing Steam and registering for a Steam account. Such a route (I think, not 100% sure, never bought a physical hard-copy game that required Steam) is not one you can take without illegally modifying the files on the disk, or (more likely) illegally downloading a pirated copy of the game, where the files have already been modified for you.

However! GameStation has apparently sold pre-owned games that require Steam before (most likely simply forgetting that serial numbers are non-renewable, or that the occasional game requires Steam)

All you need to solve it is to contact GameStation (gamestation.co.uk), tell them the problem, after which you should receive a full refund, which you can then spend on a new copy, which I'd recommend buying through Steam.

Thanks man, I'll get into contact in the morning ( its 2am xD )

It wasn't preowned but i know that gamestation has been known to resell preowned games ( in perfect condition) as brand new, maybe this one slipped. Thanks for your help ben :)

And yeah im in Europe, UK :P

There are 2Gb missing on the disk that you must download through Steam. There is no way to play the game without those files unless it's a pirated version.
