What got everyone into saints row?

for me, it was awhile after i got my xbox. I had gotten the xbox used, and Saints Row 2 was one of the games that was saved to the hard drive as a digital download. When I wasnt able to play GTA4 anymore due to the disc getting so scratched up it crashed on the loading screen, I decided to try Saints Row 2 since i had heard it was similar to GTA. It was MUCH better than GTA. Eventually i bought SR3 and SR4 for the xbox, enjoying them even more than SR2. Then when the whole Saints Row series was on sale as a bundle for $10.99 on steam a couple weeks ago, I bought that. Best decision I've made.

The title people gave to Saints Row as "GTA on crack/dope" is true. I really agree.

F*ck the skeptics in gta community btw. I'm embarrassed as being one of them last time. Now I'm supporting Saints Row as well.

^ Welcome to the Saints, srnewbie. :D

To be honest, I've always seen this series as the oddball, crazy cousin of Grand Theft Auto, and I like it that way. We've got way too many open-world 'GTA-like' games as it were. The fact that there is a game series where I can run around the city in a whacked out costume, or as an obese man with flaming yellow hair, neon green skin, and a female voice is luxurious. Granted there are legit complaints that the new direction makes us look like stupid children, but those who are just haters?? Screw 'em.

Got some money for my birthday in 2008, went to Target to buy Arkham Asylum. They were fresh out, but I didn't want to leave empty-handed and I remembered Yahtzee's review of SR2, so I decided to give it a shot. The rest, as they say, is history.

I played Saints Row The Third a few years ago on a friend's XBox 360, but I only played some side activities and didn't play any missions, so I never really got around to purchasing it. Then XBox Live offered a free "Deals With Gold" download of Saints Row The Third, so I downloaded and completed the entire campaign and all the activities. I really liked all the character and vehicle customizations, along with the cool graphics and lighting in the game, so I ended up spending a lot of time playing it even after the campaign was done. After that I was hooked (so, apparently, Volition's marketing strategy worked)! Then I purchased Saints Row 2 and played the entire campaign with a friend through System Link, and it was awesome, even though the graphics were somewhat dated.

My biggest disappointment, though, was that I couldn't get back to many of those really cool locations that I'd played through in the missions. That was just frustrating! So I searched the Internet for any possible cheats to get back. I came across saintsrowmods.com and I saw all the great mods that were available for the PC version. Sandbox+ did exactly what I wanted, so at that point I decided to purchase the PC versions of Saints Row 2, 3, and 4 on Steam.

The games are just extremely clever and hilarious, the characters are very endearing and the voice acting is top notch, and there's just enough rudeness to keep it fun! And they even had the real Burt f**king Reynolds! Ha ha ha! What more could you want in a game? It was the campaigns that got me hooked, but this saintsrowmods.com website keeps me coming back regularly. So even though Volition didn't make any money from the first game I got for free, I ended up buying them all anyways and much of it was because of the added value provided by saintsrowmods.com.

Seeing the SR3 trailer and using the Initiation Station on xbox. I've heard of Saints Row beforehand and had no clue what it is but SR3 caught my eye and I started with that game on the day it was released. I just loved the idea that you can play as anyone you want. I went backwards in the series from 3 to 2 to 1 and back to 4. SR4 and GTA 5 are the only games I've ever pre-ordered.

Crazy Character customization :P

When i saw that you can create a sexy girl with big boobs..I was like - Hell yeah ..Now this is a must play game..:P

On serious note - My friend recommended me to buy SR3 game..It was quite cheap on Steam and bought it...Enjoyed it more than GTA 4 gameplay-wise...But SR4 was a disappointment as it was rehash of old games

Back in 2006 when the 360 had blades on the Dashboard, I powered on my 360 one morning and seen the preview right on my Xbox Live home page so I downloaded the Demo and that's when I got hooked!

Old Xbox 360 dashboard used to look like this:
