Gat out of Hell chat/thoughts.

TLaD has 22 storyline missions + 7 new weapons and TBoGT has 30 storyline missions + another 7 new weapons. They're both expansion packs. They have also new interiors, new homies to hang out with, new side missions, new vehicles along with IV ones, even some new pedestrians... I understand that creating the completely new city takes much time but I'd prefer to wait one more year and see the great battle between Saints and their villains in the game, not in the outro.

Rockstar has 10x the staff, as well as an unlimited time and budget to make their games.

Volition made openworld games fun ~:)
Considering the size of team compared to Rockstar ,they are an amazing studio.

Ummm you got a problem with that response saints row 1 and 2, red faction games and many other games you guys did in the past. You guys clearly did more time and money into those then you guys obviously did for saints row 3 and saints row 4 and gat in hell and you guys really try your hardest to make your selfs out to look like a indie company. When your clearly not cuz with the track record of games you guys made.

Of course there is. Gat out of Hell was built on top of SRIV. Once again, the scope of the project was small and it was delivered as intended. You may not like it, but that doesn't mean it was rushed in any way.
As for gat in hell it is clearly a cash grab.

The hours I've spent on volition games is too many to remember.
Have they been 100% perfect through out all the great games they've released ? well no.
But their greatness far out weighs the "bad bits".
Nuffsaid :)

Well, my adventure with Saints Row started back in 2010, when I got Saints Row 2. Actually I loved it more than GTA. Huge and interesting city, lots of fun activities, customization, cutscene and mission replay, traffic variety, plenty of things to do with money, well written storyline... Oh man, I miss these times. Then SR:TT got announced and I was excited like never. The game even better than SR2? Hell yeah!... And then it got released. I won't say, it's a good game but it was a huge step back from SR2. While SR2 had perfect balance between realism and fun, SR:TT became as wacky as possible. The storyline was stupid and short, the city was tiny, the traffic was monotonous, The Boss became a pussy and Shaundi - a whiny bitch... But still, missions themselves were very fun, choises were nice addition, the new upgrades system was amazingly good and Pierce got much better. Then, on the first of April 2012, Enter the Dominatrix got announced. Then it turned out to be a joke, later they started working on it for real and finally it became the full sequel, SR IV. And, well, while I really think it should be a spin-off instead of a sequel, the game itself is great. Super powers are fun and there's lots of references to the first games, new easter eggs and improved upgrades system. It's just pity there's no cribs nor mission replay and we can enter only one simulation (it would be nice to explore Pleasantville or old Stilwater in the freeroam without Sandbox+).

And now we have Gat out of Hell, the game which includes more cut/disabled features than new ones. No homies, cheats, customization of any kind nor radio stations, one type of pedestrian and six storyline missions. The whole game is based on activities, targets and challenges and if you complete them, there's nothing. The Boss appears in the intro and the outro only for a few seconds and the city is well designed, I must admit, but it's just empty. And now let's list new features: new superpowers, new weapons, Zins replaced with the demons, slightly changed activities from SR IV and 100 challenges. Honestly, I think Volition should focus on Saints Row V instead of making this pointless expansion. Wings Pack for SR IV would be a better idea.

Producing good pc games that a lot of people can enjoy on various computer setups(+consoles) is no easy task.
Compared to other studios,i reckon Volition do a great job.
Yes Gat out of Hell is a short game with a few "issues" ,i presume it was meant to be short anyway.
I like the whole hell thing and i hope volition continue to come up with
imaginative game worlds and crazy things to do in it.
After two big games like SR3 and SR4 ,it's not a big deal.
I look forward to SR5,i predict we'll all be happy :)
One thing that has made GOOH better is the mods!! :)
So a big shout out to all the modders ,thank you guys.

Sidenote:
I loved the Red faction games and would like to see some Geo-Mod stuff in Saints Row.
But i don't think it can be done.
Unless a lot of gamers are ready to accept game-play fun over graphics.
I am.

There's lots of disabled SR IV (or even SR:TT) stuff mixed with the new content. SR IV audio, SR IV textures, SR IV homies mixed with cut new ones, SR IV cheats, SR IV vehicles, weapon customization system, even some SR IV weapons - all that stuff is just disabled. And I understand that hell citizens are poor and all but one type of pedestrian and 11 vehicles... Really.
This approach actually makes a LOT of sense from my perspective - make as few modifications to the existing systems etc as you have to and where you have to change things (like the radio for example), keep the changes as simple as possible. Limits the amount of possible breakage that could be caused by ripping out a system totally rather than just turning it off. It's also a nice side benefit for us that it makes it (relatively) easy to mod this stuff back in. :)

Volition don't own the rights to Red Faction any more, so it's quite unlikely...

OK, confused now.

As I understood it, the game loads up a recent SR4 file into GOOH. When I first played GOOH, it loaded up my female Boss and I beat the game with that Boss model.

Since then, I've made five other Bosses for SR4, so when I played the ending of GOOH again, I expected to see my Hispanic Boss w/spiky neon-blue hair (my most recent save) only to find my original female Boss escaping Hell. What's going on? I thought your GOOH file loads up your current Boss character, so shouldn't it load up the spiky-haired dude?

GOOH loads your boss when it creates a new save. I think it should keep that existing boss for the whole life of that save.

So if I wanted my spikey-hair Boss to be abducted by Satan, I need to save him in SR4, then start a completely new game in GOOH??
