Gentlemen of Steelport Compilation

thanks, trying now.
(It is Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Cache right?)

Well after verifying the cache Steam's decided to download another 2.5 GB of SR3 related who-knows-what. Is this normal? I wouldn't know because I've never had to verify caches before: it all just kinda worked.

Well I'm getting a download speed of 10 kbps right now and it's quarter to 5 (AM) local time so I'll probably get back to this tomorrow if it's sorted by then.

Hey Idol
I'm having a bit of a problem and I was wondering if you could help me out? Basically as soon as I've finished the second mission and landed in Steelport the game bugs out: I can't move except for jumping and I fall really slowly, the terrain looks weird like it's and LOD (or whatever the SR:TT equivalent is called and Shaundi is invisible. It's my first time on the PC version of the game (brand new save) and the only thing I can think of that might be affecting it is that I'm using a program called Orochi CEG to run it because Steam CEG has a problem with AMD Bulldozer CPUs that causes them to Blue Screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. as you may have gathered it is a legal Steam copy.

That is weird as it runs just fine on my FX-4100.

It's not normal, but it does happen. It means that Steam never fully downloaded all the original game files like it should have originally and was the cause of your issue. Verifying integrity should straighten all that out though.

Well thanks Corrodias and Idol

Arkayn, I too have a 4100 but yours must have updated BIOS whereas I still haven't updated mine.
Lastly, great mod Idol (et al) but what options should I select to have all the mods save for the flying ball and Avatar Rampage (It's not that I don't want them, it's just I want to be able to complete the whole game slightly more)?

Code:
    BIOS Type American Megatrends
DMI BIOS
    vendor American Megatrends Inc.
    version V17.17
    date 01/13/2012
    ROM size 1024 KB

This is on a MSI board.
I have 12GB memory and also have a GTX670 and GTX650Ti in the PCI-E slots.

Both of those mods (flying ball and avatar rampage) are disabled by default, so you won't have to make any changes to exclude those. If you want ALL of the mods (including heli customization, which prevents you from actually flying them), enter advanced mode and go through the menus, enabling everything except those two when you see them.

What? Why would anyone want a sweet heli that they can't fly?

Oh well, If co-op includes the permanent temp weapons I'll go for that version. I just wasn't sure if it did because Idol kept reiterating the point about weapons being the primary fuck-up for co-op but then I remembered everything he said about it being geared towards mod - mod compatibility rather than co-op with vanilla and it seems like a pretty big selling point for the mod so I figure it must be in the co-op patch. (by the way Idol, will you and the author of that mod be doing DLC patches for the alien weapons and the bee gun and such?)

You misunderstood the purpose of that heli customization mod. After you customize them and save your game, you can simply build new patch files without it selected and your (now) customized helis will be able to fly again.

There is a core mods menu in advanced mode with everything in it selected by default. Just take a look and see. Also, permanent temporary weapons are not included by default since they automatically grant them to a player permanently as soon as he picks them up. This somewhat breaks certain missions that count on the player only having use of them temporarily like Ho Boat.

It is highly unlikely that the dlc weapons will ever be available due to the weird way that dlc assets are loaded (and not preloaded like regular ones.) At least until someone finds a workaround for it.

The DLC assets aren't loaded at all. Due to lack of memory they had to prevent vanilla assets from loading during the missions, that's the only way the devs could get the assets loaded. SR3 is ported from consoles after all, so I doubt it will ever happen that you can shoot with a 100% laser gun, or a 100% bee gun.
