I don't see the install folder mentioned in the readme. Is the folder labeled common the same thing as the install folder?

The install folder is going to be a subfolder named "Saints Row The Third" under that "common" folder.
Are there specific folders I'm suppose to copy when I go to install the mods?

That kind of depends. Which install method did you choose when you built everything with GoS?
I choose the patch since it seemed simple enough for a beginner like me.

Then it doesn't go in the install folder. You need to replace the original patch files with your newly created ones here:
..\Steam\steamapps\common\saints row the third\packfiles\pc\cache\

Everytime I run the "Create_Custom_GoS_v1" file it crashes after I start the patch build. I get a crash report that it stopped working. One time I even tried closing the crash reports that came up. But nothing ends up in the "MY_CUSTOM_SR3_MODS". I have re-downloaded the GoS files more than once. Anyway to fix this?
