SRIV Latest Steam patch for SRIV breaks weapons

The 7.8mb patch was the second patch which fixed some of the most heinous issues in the first (688mb) patch. Because of the way Steam tracks downloads, only the most recent patch for a game is displayed in your download history.

So, what's our worst case scenario here, after they fix it we may have lost some weapons?
I was in auto-save territory at the time and I'd rather not go back to my last manual save, and the auto-save got saved-over just going through the menus.

The Additional Cheats mod can get us our weapons back, although Volition better not make like Bethesda and leave it to the modders to clean up after them.

I'd be happy to just not have to re-do all the challenges again though.

I just want to highlight the "on-disk DLC" thing and raise a point: this isn't "on-disk" in the normal sense. This isn't content which the game shipped with that we were arbitrarily locked out of...

It's on our hard-DISK drives even if we don't buy it. That fits the description of on-disk DLC.

But like I said, I have nothing against on-disk DLC. It's very practical, I'd hate not being able to play with someone just cause one of us doesn't have the DLC that the other does, or not being able to use my DLC just cause my co-op doesn't have it. I was just a little disappointed that the DLC got released before the problems were fixed though...

But Idol says the same patch that caused the problems also included the DLC, and that they might have been accidentally released, so I guess I can stay optimistic for now.

I'm trying to remain optimistic even though I haven't started the game after the update was installed.

So maybe the worse case scenario is those who saved will have to revert back to an earlier save but if that's the worse case scenario. that may sound horrible to some but far worse has happened with bad patches, for example having to start the entire game over because pre-existing saves conflict with whatever is in a new update.

Not an option. Some of us don't have older saves. I only noticed my weapons being screwed up after I had saved and the game auto-saved several times. Windows didn't make any backups ether like it does for SR TT...

My fault for not visiting Friendly Fire often enough I guess.

Hmm, bought the season pass yesterday (which was marked as 'pre-order'). Otherwise did nothing I wasn't supposed to do. Still got the message saying "You are missing Downloadable Content that was previously available." In other words, they *did* remove something, now leaving me with screwed up savegames. Brilliant. :(

They released two new DLC's today, so the data you are missing is from those.

They released 3 DLC's with the first patch.
2 of them are buyable.
and 1 of them is inofficial and was removed. (Gat V Pack with Gat Suit,Gat Glasses, Aisha Suit, Aisha Hat)

I only bought the Season Pass as well, but that was shortly after it's release. I actually played the game a while after the patch's release, noticed that my weapons are broken, and I thought it was caused by a mod.

So I removed the mod, started a new game, everything seemed to work fine. After a while I got the DLC error and noticed that my Merica is gone and my weapons are bugged again.
