Saints Row 4 Announce Teaser

Definitely sounds like what all of us are going to be doing for the next 2 or 3 years. Kind of a dream game of sorts. Very excited. I am very much 100% on board. Ironically, I had hoped for exactly what worried me. I wanted Volition to use the same engine, but make a bigger game. I feel SRTT is exactly how I want a SR game to look and play like. I just want more......which it looks like we are getting ten fold. SALUTE!

The only thing that scares me is that there has been no mention of returning features from SR2 that were cut from SRTT. I want my layers, wear options, walks, expressions, hydraulics, and day/night cycle just to name a few.

I can't help but feel like the day/night cycle won't be back simply because perpetual night fits the mood they seem to be trying to convey with virtual Steelport. I hope I'm wrong, though, since that was my most missed feature from SR2.

I really wish some of these interviewers would go outside the box to ask questions about this missing features, but they just keep asking the same questions for the most part. I dunno if they're just trying to avoid stepping on egg shells by not bringing up negative aspects of the previous game or what, but it needs to be asked. Also hopefully we get some actual footage soon.

Penetrator not returning as per Jim Boone.

Alright so further about the weapons, you now will have lasers, guitar case rocket launchers, a gun that inflates an npc's head, a dubstep cannon a mech suit (fuck yea), what misses yet is Black Rock Shooter's arm cannon and a PS3 controller that possesses an npc.

I think everything but the layers have a good chance of making the cut. I predict no layers because of the way that clothing behaved in SRTT. The mesh weighting would have to be spot on to prevent wicked clipping. If two items are not weighted exactly the same one could clip through the other. We gave up layers for breast physics......and I'm okay with that.

I feel like with layers they could easily find a way around this by just making a good amount of base clothing combinations. In SR3 it felt like they started to do so, but got bored after 5 seconds, so we ended up with weird clothing like the tattered tanktop with headphones around the neck and casual hoodie with necktie.

I'll tell you one thing, though, I'll be pissed if wear options aren't in. That's something that should be easily do-able. Why should you have to buy 5 different hats depending on how you want to wear it? They could stand to bring back logos too, since it would add a little more customization to the clothing itself.

Since they are evidently following some marketing instructions and speak about only things presented in a showcase video and in a trailer, we might get some new info in the near future (in recent years they had intersting April 1st reveals, so who knows). I like it that Saints Row IV gameplay will differ from SRTT and SR2 (of course) - hence the superpowers and ability of moving faster than vehicles - so it will be yet another game to choose depending on your mood. I'm pretty sure that I'll be missing selectable weapons designs in every other game the same way I miss Awesome button now.

What makes me curious though:
- City interaction - Steelport became much taller and we can assume that air-traffic will be introduced this time - but how about new shops and clubs?
- Activites - they mentioned a giant-mech assault being a Tank Mayhem's spin-off - once again, mech suit seems to be capable of flying so that's another chance for aircraft showing up - but how about the rest of activities? That simulation-thing and super powers give quite endless possibilities.
- Layered clothes, of course

One thing to add to your list is what cars will the Saints drive exactly. Sure, no doubt the 5 Saints cars from SRTT will show up again, but if there are more cars with a Saints variant now? If so, then which?
