SPOILERS Saints Row IV: The Executive Privilege Pack

they are being deceptive with it this time around, though. I cancelled my pre order of SR3 when I saw a cheats DLC was available. Then bought the game when I got all the DLC and the game for $13. This time, they waited until the game released to show their true colors.

that wont really bother me as long it is not a DLC pack with mission, weapons and looks like a slice of the actual game content being cut as DLC.

I bought the complete edition of SR3 last year, they only thing that I care is the weapons.

2 different companies, while it is pretty ridiculous to sell cheats. People bought the pack, at best its the consumers fault for contributing to its popularity. Why wouldn't Deep Silver use the same type of pack to make money just like THQ did? $2 is pocket change to most of us, so it all comes down to personal pref. Them selling cheats is no reason to avoid playing the game, just don't contribute to that DLC pack.

i was hoping they would learn from THQ's mistake.

This type of DLC model, retailer specific pre order bonuses, and online passes need to come to an end. I was happy when THQ fell (not for the average employees and I hope all the best for them) because it meant one less P.O.S. publisher out there. Deep Silver had a chance to show that they are a better company and that our beloved franchise is in good hands. Instead, they chose to show us that they are THQ under a different name.

That is a bit dramatic, why would they not re-use the idea for a cheats DLC when we(the consumers) actually paid for it? Deep Silver is a THOUSAND times better a company then THQ every was. That's more money for the company to make more games for us. There is nothing forcing anyone to buy it, nothing forces anyone to pre-order. Why shouldn't we get a little extra for maybe ordering it from gamestop, or best buy? Bring those companies business and gives people a reason to argue about whose Pre-order gift was better. Fact is, while its ridiculous I don't blame them in the slightest. We bought it, we let it fly, therefore they should keep doing it because the consumers payed for it once and they will do so again.

all i know is that I would likely not have this game in my library right now if I knew of a cheats DLC for the game. They had no DLC mentioned for the longest time, then finally added a cheap season pass at the last second.

Before release, SRTT had about 10 DLCs on the store page to pre-purchase; Deep Silver is being deceptive in hiding those from us until the game is out.

I'm not a part of "we(the consumers)". I can't be the only one that said F-That to a game with a cheats DLC and cancelled my preorder. If you just snagged a franchise from a publisher that went under, why would you carry on their practices? Right now, I feel lied to. Big time.

it is still not as bad as EA removing a character from Mass Effect 3 because I didnt pre-order it or lock up a set of vehicles in NFS. I can accept the cheats DLC since I dont use it or costumes because I hardly change my character clothes but I know these may be a big deal to some people.

They mention about the season pass quite early and it is sort of expected, every single game out there is doing season pass.

They didn't lie to anyone, I don't recall any interview where someone asked them if they were gonna be selling cheat codes in a DLC just like THQ did. Even so, it was a marketing decision. It sold well for SRTT so they did it again, obviously the people who said F-that were the minority this time. If your gonna judge a whole game based on selective DLC, that is your decision the only person your punishing is yourself. Deep Silver has been always been fair with their DLC prices, and the content is always sizable. I don't see the deception myself.

Not buying a game because they sell cheats? Drastic.
I base my decision on purchasing a game based on what the game offers from the get-go. Not what kind of optionals are offered.
Just like I decide whether or not to buy a car based on cost/performance, not because you can buy electric window controls.

I like this game, bought it, will love the hell out of it. Won't buy a 2 dollar cheat mod. If everyone does it, it's not profitable, so they won't do it again.
Don't turn corporations into scapegoats just because that's the easy road, blame the people who nurture what bothers you.
