Sandbox+ for Saints Row IV

Quick note that I'm meeting this afternoon with Jeff Harris who already has an in-game menu setup for us to use that can execute open world functions. Basically, all the Sandbox+ features without having to to use key combinations. Exciting stuff.

Like it, love it, cannot wait. Amazing job on this mod. Also, MISSION REPLAY!
 
Is this menu something that'll need a patch for the game, or just some Lua code that Jeff helped you write? And using that menu, will it be possible to test new Lua scripts without having to restart the game?

The key combos aren't even bad but that will make things SO much more convenient, organizable, and accessible. Especially makes it convenient for playing with a controller, even with an initial key press, I presume. Oh man... such amazing stuff going on :)
 
To everyone asking, this is a new menu created special for our community which has access to the open world memory space so we can affect gameplay with it. It will also include sample menu options so we can do things with toggles, checkboxes, sliders, etc just like how the full game works. Jeff Harris took a quickie screenshot while I was there and I'll get it posted as soon as he sends it to my way now that I'm back.

That's awesome! Can't wait for it. Before THQ went bankrupt, I never would have known Volition would be this supporting of the modding community. :D

EDIT: What do you mean by memory space? Like if I wanted to add something to it, would I need to find a memory address using Cheat Engine or something? Or is that referring to a Lua thread?

Currently, all menus run in a separate memory space and don't have access to open world lua functions (and vice versa.) For example, we can't edit an existing menu like Rim Jobs, wardrobe, pause menu, etc and have an option run a function like cutscene_play() . With this special menu, now we can.
