SRV Confirmed + New great info!

I seriously doubt the graphics are any better pc version will always be better then the consoles always I am pretty pisted they are bundling the expansion for free with all dlc and the game for those console players for just 30 bucks thats a kick in the balls there.voltion make console players pay for the expansion as well thats pretty unfair if you give them it for free.

Well they are bundling it with sr4. I guess your point is reasonable that new purchases of sr4 will have the expansion included and on PC, us players who already have purchased the game, whether it be the ultimate franchise pack on steam or the base game, have to separately buy the expansion. I guess it would be nice if volition sold the expansion for free for owners of sr4 on steam. It wouldn't be a complicated process since steam is able to find out if the user who is going to buy the expansion, already has purchased the base game and will allow for a free download... Maybe. That's just my thought.

I'm not sure where you saw that it was being bundled free with the console versions, but that's not correct. Saints Row IV Re-Elected on Xbox One and PS4 costs $30 and Saints Row: Gat out of Hell costs $20. The bundle of them together doesn't give you any kind of savings at all and costs $50.

Oh I can't remember where I saw it but at least that is good to hear there not getting it for free thanks for clearing that up.:)

I've compiled every nit-pick of information I've collect in a long period of time in order to make these 2 short little videos in-depthly explaining all the info I know about Saints Row 5! I have included ALL links to every article/video I have watched in order to attain these pieces of info for those who are already speculating.

I really hope you enjoy, and I deeply apologize if you don't. I just wanted to make two informative videos for fellow SR lovers like myself. Thank you so much for taking the time to review this thread.

Did You Mean GOOH?

Eh, I like all the comical moments that 3 and 4 have, I'm actually glad that they have been making the series further away from Grand Theft Auto. I mean, we don't want it to be too much like GTA. If I want something serious, I will play GTA. I think all the comical value this game has makes it different than GTA.

It is not "much like GTA". Even though both are action-adventure games, there are different things that make both games unique (wacky activities like Septic Avenger in SR2, Tiger Escort in SRTT and time trails and other mini-missions in GTA games). Saints Row 2 was serious at some point but mostly during the storyline missions. Also GTA is focused on a set character, in SR you can customize your character however you please.

If SR is going to be over-the-top, that's okay. As long as there are no super powers (or at least for a mission or two) and there are more than 1 types of factions (gangs, corporations, etc.), I'll 100% buy it.

Super powers pretty much made weapons and vehicles useless. Why even have them in the game at this point.

The comparison with GTA is solely because the two games are open world and take place in an urban setting. And I don't see how that makes SR a clone. Far Cry and Just Cause both take place in a jungle, yet I don't see comparisons between them. The endless amount of open world fantasy games aren't labelled clones of Elder Scrolls.

All i'm getting from these "SR is a GTA clone" whiners, is that they believe GTA is the only game allowed to take place in an urban setting. Everything else that does it will be a clone. Better make Saints Row 5 take place in a jungle, just to be safe.

P610, you have a good point there. Back in 2006 when SR1 came out, I wasn't really all that into it as I felt like it was "another GTA clone" at the time, felt that way with 2 as well. Then when I saw 3 and 4 it changed my opinion when I saw the character customization(was not aware of this until last year, that's when I first got into the series) and made me wanting to play them and I liked both of them so much. Then I checked out 2 and I liked that one as well and I want to play 1 but it isn't on PC. Wish it was on Steam.

NOUS, while I do like the super powers, it kind of did make vehicles useless to me. The weapons? Not so much. The super powers is what I call an "ability system" and I'm all for an ability system but let's make it be something new for SR5. SR3 had grenades for its ability system, SR4 is super powers, SR5 is ??? at the moment(if they include them). Now you are right, it isn't much of a GTA clone once you get to know the series, I did back then, took it as a GTA clone until I actually tried the series out. Wish I could have bought it back then on my Xbox 360.

Whatever they do with Saints Row V (if they do make it), I hope they start making things a bit less goofy. Perhaps it's too late to ask for that, but oh well, what can you do. GTA V PC will keep me busy until they announce something about the next SR game.
