DLC Opinions?

The "unlockable pack" is the most shameless cash-grab I have ever seen by a game developer, and there's no way anyone with the PC version or a properly functioning brain should consider buying it.

I disagree. The most shameless cash grab was definitely the cheat code dlc. The unlockables one is a close second though.

Well, that's why I made this thread.. so I get a good idea of what's "good" and what's "good god no!" :p
Sounds like I may get one DLC or so if they ever go on sale, but no real need for it. How does the game work though for DLC content multiplayer? Does it synchronize to the list the host has? The player has? The best of both? (I assume not common denominator as they include the DLC in the game locked off so multiplayer synchs).

Basically as the Host of a Multiplayer game has bought the "DLC" and then goes to their Garage and takes out for example their "Genki Mobile" or "Nyte Blade Mobile", then the player who has joined the game who has not purchased this "DLC" then takes the said vehicle to their garage wont be able to store it as they have not purchased it!

So basically to put it straight still shows up on the their game but cannot store it!

Ok, but what about say the missions? If you bought Saints in Space, and I didn't have it, would we be able to go play it co-op? Would it depend on if I was hosting or you? If you say took one of the DLC only weapons, and dropped it, would I be able to pick it up if I didn't have the DLC? Or not? (Which then ties directly into said DLC co-op.. if they have a weapon would it not work for playing co-op unless both had it? Or do the DLC just not have any NEEDED weapons just fun extra ones?)

You can not play any dlc missions coop unless both people own it. If your partner takes out a dlc vehicle that you don't own you can drive it. If he drops a dlc weapon that you don't own then you cannot pick it up. All dlc stuff is fluff and not required for any regular missions.

Hm. Ok, it's the "not play missions" but I didn't know about. I know WHY they did it, but.. well... eh.

I guess that does answer some of my wonders about synchronization. Thanks for quick answer, IdolNinja!

Sounds like they forgot to update the title after it came out :p

Say, without checking... are the vehicles of that pack declared as new vehicles? Or are they actual forced customizations of the existing ones? Because the former is expected.. but the latter means they're up for grabs by the saints (thanks to requiring a "saints" customization)

For that matter, did they seriously just sell reskins of vehicles we already have as separate DLC? Or are they somehow fundamentally changed from the base vtol/tank/nforcer?
