Gentlemen of Steelport Compilation

I'm sure this has been covered, but is there anyway to use this mod without having the Steam version of Saints Row The Third?
This is exactly what I need but can't afford to buy it through Steam right now =/

It is not possible because the pirated version of SRTT isn't patched to the last version and it will not work with the mods from this website.

Then save your pennies, pirate. Sheesh.

lol can somebody (Idol) make a thread and stick to the top of page with Thread NAME as:

This website is only Compatible with the Steam version or SRTT

or something like this, could save A LOOOT of trouble :)

It's a waste of time. If we did add a message then these windowlickers would either ignore the warning because they are drooling inbred morons, or they would just ask us to make mods compatible with the pirated version and the cycle of stupidity would simply continue.

Lol, what is the difference between the Steam and Pirated copies anyway.

Like it says right in our rules, Saints Row: The Third is a Steamworks game. We have confirmation from THQ and Volition that all legal releases worldwide require Steam. If you don't have the Steam version of SRTT then you are a pirate, and you will be banned from our forums.

Also, thanks for PM'ing me and pointing out that it was you who tried to friend me earlier. Since you don't own SRTT then welcome to the banlist.

Well, to be fair it's still gonna be on Steam regardless, as those 'other places' sell copies that go on Steam. They have to. If they're not selling Steamworks copies, they're pirating the game and charging you money for it. Apparently there's rumors of that happening in some places...
I'd also argue about the industry crumbling because of pirates.. although I already made all my arguments before elsewhere. And this isn't the place for them.

On topic... how well do the assorted GoS packs play with upgrading? I've never actually tried to change mods mid-game... would I be able to continue with the same savegame I have so far if I update to the newer version of GoS whenever it's out? Do I have to have the same exact mod pack? Does it care too much? Really the only ones I can see throwing a fit would be ones that change things like customization options on a car or character, where suddenly there's a vehicle with illegal sizes of wheels and mods, or a character wearing an outfit they can't normally or what.

How does that work anyways? Does it depend on the mod? Does the game just crash on load? Or does it continue as if the mod was included but the features are gone after you try to change anything they were related to?

SRTT actually handles mod changes mid-save really well. It's not like skyrim where you are pretty much fucked if you try to change things mid-run. The only mod that ever gives anyone trouble is GPO, and only if you leave the extra homie selected and then uninstall it. It's easy to get around though if you just set all your homie slots to Saints and save, then remove GPO.

I have never had any problems changing mods mid-run, but I do keep an eye on the read-me's for incompatibilities.
