Saints Row 5 Ideas thread

Ambiance should be memory priority #1 in SRV since it's a sandbox game.
Means lots of different traffic types, variety in traffic, variety in NPCs and NPC behaviour, including the chance they might pull out a weapon and shoot at you, or get their baseball bat out and come running after you.
 
Ambiented in mid 80's, Set on miami, a plot something like Hotline Miami.
That idea i've been waiting for any sandbox whoever got it first. Hope this fits for SR

This is exactly what I think! I think ambiance has been sadly neglected in the newer games.

In addition, the game should allow the player to return to most of the buildings that were in the missions after the campaign is over. This was something they did well in Saints Row 1 and 2. Saints Row 3, unfortunately, replaced most of the interesting buildings (e.g. Safeword and 3 Count Casino) with identical small cribs, and sealed up Syndicate Tower for reasons I've never understood (a situation I have remedied with kind help from Knobby). And I don't even want to talk about Saints Row IV, which was the worst of all in that regard. Surprisingly, Gat Out Of Hell was a little bit better as far as being able to reenter most of the buildings after the campaign, so I hope that trend continues. And I think there should be a lot of stores to buy things like the older games too.
 
Saints Row V ...

... set after a world-wide apocalypse. Basically making fun of all the tropes and clichés that exist in post-apocalyptic fiction.

• ... a carbon-copy/parody of Grand Theft Auto V. Including Johnny Gat dragging a prisoner into a torture chamber and saying, “Now here comes the part where we do the torture, and later tell the audience over there that it was wrong what we just did. Ready? Good. Pierce and Boss have the dildo bats ready for you.”

• ... Johnny Gat Teaches Typing. A game for small children where the object is to get Gat from Point A to Point B in a level by typing the words correctly. The plot's fairly simple: rescue Aisha from the Ronins. Johnny expresses encouragements to the player such as, “Keep it up, kid, and you may find yourself a Saint one day...” or “Heh, who doesn't want to see Johnny Gat in action?” If he dies, he says stuff like, “Sheesh, kid, you makin' me lose my touch!” or “The Boss won't be happy about this...”

• ... where you explore the Boss' past. A pre-defined past as decided by the developers and the game ends as you walk down that street and are accosted, nearly killed, and are rescued by Julius Little.

• ... You control a developer team from Volition set in -- wait for it -- our world. Yup! Our world! The task is to gather up a bunch of other developers to create the most awesome Saints Row game ever and your enemies are rival game developers and fans who want to see you and your companions fail.
 
My Idea would be a retcon of TT and IV for the old fans, it would also clear up SR2's story, and then volition goes back to wacky or make's a new storyline.

- The Main Character, and Pierce, Gat, and Shaundi are asked by the FBI, to help take down a massive organization (Like the Vice Kings and Saints Combined) which is led by Dex. There are also another Three Smaller Gangs (Colombians, Russian Mafia, and An Roman Themed Gang)
- Dex is the Most Wanted Person on the (Saints Row Universe) FBI's List, using his Intelligence, and Douche-Baggery to rise on the top. Corruption, Murder, Assassination etc
- Kinzie and Zimos would appear, however Kinzie is less of a Misanthropic Bitch, and is still in the FBI. - Viola and Kiki would still appear leading a prostitution ring like what the Vice Kings had in SR1, and are Dex's Assistants etc, unlike Tanya they however Join the Protagonist's side.
- Steelport Appears but isn't represented as it does in Saints Row: The Third, being more fresh, little to no copy-and-paste, and more realistic (On a Saints Row 2 Environment Level)
- Killbane is replaced with a Ex-Soviet Russian Soldier (Similar to that guy from Rocky IV) who is more intelligent, and doesn't fucking obsess with fucking wrestling, still a pure psychopath like what they wanted him to be like originally.
- Matt Miller is replaced with a Man who is obsessed with the Idea of a "New Roman Army" basically a Schizophrenic Historian.
- Loren is replaced with a Hispanic Druglord, who is comparable with Victor, Angelo, and Big Smoke from San Andreas.
- The Mission Strand would be comparable to Saints Row/2, where the prologue has the player sent to the (Alternate) Steelport, getting the basic setup ready, etc. Then The Roman, Russian and Colombian Mission/Stronghold Strands.
- The Final Strand is Dex's Gang, with the Smaller Gangs out of the way, Dex's Gang is more tougher then three combined, with the gang members being like a Cripz/Masako Hybrid, with Powerful Weapons, etc.
- The Ultor/Saints Product Whoring and shit, never happened, The Saints are well Known, across the US, however aren't celebrities, but like the Fame of Cripz/Bloodz across Urban Western Countries and that.
- It would be on the level of how SR2's Storyline went out, Serious, with some funny elements. - A Few new, character's would be introduced.
- Oleg, would appear, as a Russian Govt (ex-KGB) Agent, that is taken Hostage by the Russians, and would help the saints, and become a leg breaker for the saints.
- The Gang wars become so bad, that by Dex's Gang's Mission Strands, a More Realistic (With No Laser Guns, however the Sonic Boom would still appear, since that would fit in as a Easter Egg/Special Weapon)
- STAG Would appear, their appearance would be similar to the Future Warrior Program the United States Military was doing in the Early 2000's.
- The Map would be Bigger than SR2's Stilwater.
- More Weapons, Vehicles, Characters, Activities, etc and things to get and find then Saints Row 2. With some returning weapons, vehicles and clothes from SR1/SR2, including new content.
- Drugs and Alcohol would act like they did in SR1, along with spawning on Pedestrians, and Many places to get it from, along with some new Drugs and Alcohol.
- There would be about Double the amount of Interiors there were in SR1 and SR2 Combined.
- It would follow on the Style of Saints Row 1 and Saints Row 2.
- The Player is similar to how they were in Saints Row 2, A Mad-Dog Psychopath.
- Dex can die, however the player wishes (say if you shoot him with any gun, a different animation will play, depending on the class)
- Modifications for Guns would appear, how they would act similarly in Far-Cry 4/GTA V etc, the Player can put them on and take them off etc.
-- Camo can be applied, like in Saints Row IV.
-- Dual Wielding would be like in Saints Row 2.
- You Can Shoot from Parachute (After You Activated it)
- Food is Realistically Cheaper, however it is more abundant, along with more Food Types.
- Grenades would take up the slot like they did in SR1/2, however the R2/RT is still binded to throw them.
-- Satchel Charges would still work like in SR2.
- The Game would be as challenging like in SR2.
- Drugs would be bought from Drug Dealers, instead of Liquor Stores, Drug Dealers would have an Icon when they spawn.
- The Game would keep everything that was good in Saints Row 1/2 that wasn't mentioned.
- The Multiplayer would work like it did in Saints Row 1, but with less glitches, and better gamemodes (That don't suck dick)
- Any Crazy, Over-the-top weapons would be Easter Egg, End-Game weapons, similar to the Gentlemen of the Row Weapons (and The Penetrator, Finding it in a Strip Club, back entrance or something)
- No, In-Your-Face Easter Eggs, or Penis Jokes or anything, like how they were done in SR2/SR1
- More Special Dynamic Events (Robberies, Hiests, Suicides, Gang Wars between the Different Gangs/Stag/Cops) - Melee Weapons are like in Saints Row 2 (Satisfying and Powerful)
- No Upgrade Horseshit, Respect is used like it is, in Saints Row 1/2.
-- Health, Sprint, and Faster Gang Heat wearing off is gained by Finishing Activities/Diversions.
- Weapons aren't weak BB Guns like they are in SR3/IV/GooH (They Act Realistically but Fun, like in SR2)
 
though it may not be to your taste, I think they should remove the censoring from nudity, and not dodge around nudity, as a lot of pegi 18 games have done recently (gta v, witcher 3 etc) it would also add to the realism and, erm, make streaking more of a "fun" minigame

Here's my ideas for stories.

1: a saints row game based after saints row 2, the Boss will be having post traumatic stress as they are constantly having flashbacks of their lutenent's deaths, ex carlos and lin.

2: based before saints row 1, you play as the Boss before they joined the Saints. They join another gang like the Los Carnales (players choice). Maybe you could meet other saints like lin or carlos' older brother. Even though saints row 1 didn't have the option to play as a female character they should put it into this game.

3: this saints row game is based a few years after saints row 4, the Boss will be coming into their 40's, they're getting older . they've came from a gangster background All the way to fighting aliens..
 
I think really the game should return back to the way the first and second game was, more serious gameplay than the funny things of SRTT and SRIV.
