DLC Opinions?

But why they want to release it as standalone expansion ? What is that idea ?!
I hope, if this extension is interesting, they offer a DLC version.

Well, I was just watching an LP f SR3 in which they got ahold of the STAG VTOL and tank from the DLC someone bought for them, and their comment was it was alien technology. It kinda is. Super advanced transforming VTOL jets with giant energy death rays? Tanks with the same and missiles? And the tank is nigh indestructable. It is like aliens already.

I'm suspecting you're going to find out it IS. I'm calling it now, STAG uses alien technology either by having captured it or by being RUN by the aliens.

In other words, between STAG, an actual zombie outbreak in an entire island of the city, and declaring marital law and/or a city state and getting away with it, an alien invasion as a pretext to a horribly dated matrix parody concept isn't too far off.
It'll probably just all reused assets from the Decker stuff anyways.

I don't see the entire thing being a rehash of deckers.die. There may be a mission or two, but if the description is to be believed, the whole point of this game is that The Boss is trapped in a simulation of Steelport that seems just like the original. As a result, I feel like as the game progresses, he slowly realizes that it's a simulation and eventually starts breaking the game with all of the super powers.

Personally, if I were to write this story, I'd have it start out with the Bank Heist mission again. This time, however, elements are wrong, such as Pierce crossplaying as Aisha, zombie Shaundi (if the story continues off of that ending), mascots instead of Morningstar, etc. Once you finish the mission, the point of view changes to reveal that the whole mission was the simulation, with The Boss already having been captured by the aliens. Then the rest of the missions are mostly new, with elements from previous ones, such as the sky-diving segments. Also throw in some old activities such as Fuzz and Septic Avenger.

Eventually, The Boss realizes it's a simulation when he starts seeing all of his old friends such as Carlos and Gat alive and well, so he rallies the troops, masters the super powers, fights the aliens and Paul the Saints Flow Can as they hop into the game to stop him, and eventually the alien overlord hops into the game himself for the final battle. Post boss, you decide to stay in the Dominatrix for the hell of it.

Of course, I expect Volition to do a far better job, but that's just the idea I have.

Maybe the simulation will have a real day/night cycle, and boat and airplane traffic. You know, like they should have put in the original SRTT. ;)

They can have twice as much money from me if they simply put Fuzz back in along with reinstating all the old diversions; ambulance, taxi, etc.

I just... I don't know what to expect out of the new DLC. From everything I read personally, it sounds like it will be like a super extended version of the Super Saint mission in Trouble with Clones. I'm not sure how I feel about that, I mean... I don't hate the idea of it? I'd much prefer a full expansion of SRTT, take off from the end, add in Fuzz... FUZZ, I need FUZZ back, that was my favorite thing to do in SR2. I dunno, the new DLC better have a bunch of stuff I can use in normal SRTT as well.
